# About me

Hi, I'm a 3D modeler & texturer hobbyist who draws some sketches when he has time to.

Since Octobre 2015 I work as a volunteer for the game Yandere Simulator , I do 3D props and environments.
I'll try to post it here (in the Yandere Simulator Contributions folder) each time I make a new one :)
Plus I've now started to live stream my modeling and texturing process, check out my channel ;) www.twitch.tv/thomlaurent

Beside, I'm a student in programming who loves working on video games.

And you, who are you ?

I really want to volunteer, although i am only 14. i go to a special music school where i learn about voicing and singing, therefore voice acting would be a well-suited job for me. But i am too young

ThomLaurent In reply to Info-Chan [2016-05-18 14:07:27 +0000 UTC]

I think if you were 16 it would be ok, but actually you're a bit too young. It's a matter of voice: if it resembles to highschool students' one it should be ok. Then it's also a matter of experience, your performance have to look real and follow what YandereDev wants (you have to perfectly understand what he wants, even if he doesn't explain it well).
So I would advise you to work on personal project or friends' ones to build you an experience (I did that for 3D modeling), it profits you for both your future career and for taking part of bigger projects (reminds you YandereDev ask for professional level of quality, do you really think you have it?)
He it will help

Thank you for your very detailed reply. I will definitely build up my skills and vocal abilities to a professional standard before I volunteer, and will keeps my eye out for small projects I can contribute towards. Thank you once again!

Kind of, actually I use Unity3D to create a Translation System plugin which will be integrated in a game I developed: Moopeez

This is a good looking landing page. Hopefully it will be a success Educational games are hard to get right though, it's difficult to make the concepts into games that children will actually enjoy. The art style is very fitting though!

ThomLaurent In reply to KritwanBlue [2016-05-06 16:18:49 +0000 UTC]

That's right, the project creator wanted to do this game more by passion than for success
The arts were by Magali BOLLA , she's used to draw for kids, and she's really awesome!
Actually, the whole project is made in France (yay!  ), and we wanted to deploy internationally but we were facing problems, like trash bin's color not homogeneous, even inside the same country xD.

Also I'm the only one programmer remaining in the team, so it's not easy to manage this and studies plus some other personal projects ^^

Do you program too?

KritwanBlue In reply to ThomLaurent [2016-05-06 17:11:44 +0000 UTC]

Her portfolio is very good, the way she does food is great. Because it's illustration for packaging, I'm assuming it's all vectors? If so then it's even more amazing :v

This is a very silly, but understandable problem, can't have children confused and teach them to recycle wrong, heh

On the bright side, being the only programmer means than no one puts their dirty fingers in your code! But yeah, I can definitely see how managing time gets difficult, I find it harder and harder to find time for things these days as well.

I do, but I don't really have anything significant under my belt just yet. I wrote a simple infinite runner game for a "make a game in a week" competition at my college. This is a mock up screen but the actual game looks identical, except the distances between obstacles are larger

I also wrote a prototype for a simple puzzle game where you can turn back time to move obstacles back, while remaining in position, also for a week long competition. This one has couple of levels, but it's very buggy! I may develop it further eventually though. This reminds me that I should probably upload the art from the first one somewhere

I see you are doing some stuff for yandere simulator, have any of your assets been used in it? I seen some videos of that game development, and it seems like an interesting concept, but I didn't follow it much.

Yep, the Yanvania Environment is actually a mini-game playable at night in the protagonist's room. It was an Halloween easter egg that was not finished in time (Halloween) ^^" I finished it lately.
Now I'm on the second mini-game, I drew an artwork and am currently modeling and texturing it

KritwanBlue In reply to ThomLaurent [2016-05-06 21:38:56 +0000 UTC]

That's cool, I feel like I should try to get some volunteering done at some point as well, just need to find a right project for me I see the second mini-game concept work is still at very early stage, so I can only guess what it will be,normally I would assume that it's a fighting mini game, but the mention about making it more futuristic is making me question it. Either way, I'm going to follow the progress to see how it develops, even though I probably will not play the game itself (I don't play games much these days).

Neither do I ^^ Anyway, thank you for the watch
I advise you to start by finding a good project to see how it's organized and how it survived until now. It will be a case study for you to next help you with creating your own project, rather than start your project first and be disappointed/demotivated if it failed. For example Yandere Simulator is still alive because its creator (YandereDev) is very active, devote his time to his game and is highly organized and know precisely what he wants his game to be, and in top of all he spend a lot of time to respond to its community and establish a dynamic to keep it active and interested/tuned.

Anyway, you almost guessed right, but the futuristic style is just to correspond to his new character one ^^
