hi, sorry to bother you and such, but I was just wondering if you had any tips to give about the animation portfolio for Sheridan (like what they'd be looking for and so forth)
it'd be super-special helpful if you did

ALSO no anime and probably best not to have fan art in there.

Finish it, find someone to rip it apart, do it again. It's brutal but you will probably benefit greatly!
As a general tip: they like to see structure, so any guidelines you use in your drawings can be kept. Just make sure you clean it up a bit and its clear which are your final lines. Col-erase pencils are great for this because you can do your rough then just go over it in black!
Follow the instructions and make sure the portfolio is neat and tidy (this is the easy part). Don't bother with shading on any of the required works.
For the personal works going with lifedrawing is good. Not just nude models, but if you have any drawings of enviroments or even still lifes. They can show off your ability to draw and knowledge of perspective. I wouldn't recommend submitting an entire sketchbook as an extra. If you want to submit something like that I'd recommend just compiling your best sketchbook stuff on one or two pages and printing that out.
Is there any specific aspect of the portfolio you are wondering about?

awesome thanks
uhh, probably the figure drawings (like what is expected) and character design (how detailed/simplistic it should be)

For the required figure drawings you don't need highly detailed and rendered stuff. 5 minute poses should be good, shorter if you can manage. I wouldn't recommend gestures though. Aim for completed figures with good structure and proportion and line of action. Also try to capture internal landmarks like the scapula. When you choose your pieces for the portfolio make sure you have a variety of views, not just all front or all back. Don't hide the hands and feet! They don't need to be drawn super detailed - check out the stuff up in the animation hall to get an idea of how to draw hands and feet for shorter poses if you don't already know how. I recommend the shorter poses because they can be more action oriented, and its easier drawing a human faking action while standing still than an animal.
As for character design, just keep in mind its intended to be animated, and actually rotated for the portfolio. Because of this make sure that your character has a 3 dimensional quality to it, and isn't flat and graphic. Avoid details that would be a hassle to draw from those different angles or easy to miss (seams, dangly things, stuff like that). Also don't worry about putting the character is a super complicated pose for the rotation. A symmetrical pose is easier to do. You can still find ways of communicating your character's attitude with a simple pose. If you haven't already designed a character I would avoid making one with a generic, naturalistic body type (Like Disney prince or Princesses) and try something a bit more cartoony and exaggerated (like Elmer Fudd or Bugs Bunny). The actual build and silhouette of the character is probably going to be more important than the details of their clothes/markings/whatever. Of course if you struggle with cartoony and exaggerated don't do this. Go with what you are strongest at! For the expression change draw the head from a variety of angles, and for the action poses feel free to incorporate props! Just make sure it is clear what your character is doing.
