I somehow kept overlooking this comment until this morning. Glad I saw it, thanks for pointing me that way. I think my jaw just dropped and I've thus lost the will to keep at wirewrapping... I know it's hard for me because I use harder wire that pretty much REQUIRES I maul it in order to shape it properly, but... Still. I'll never be pulling off things like that with simple wire and setting stones.

Psh. Who wouldn't favorite a naked catgirl?

The fact that my brother, sister in law, art teacher, and school librarian all check this thing out nonwithstanding. Silly details and all that.

Yeah, I know, but that only works on particularily thin pieces. I know it's wasteful of silver, but I prefer the things I make to have some size, weight, thickness to them when it comes to PMC. Makes it feel more worth it.

Where did you fire the silver clay? In the art dept at MN?

TheyCallMeMewt In reply to pendragginink [2007-08-19 03:27:35 +0000 UTC]

Nah, it was a one day class at a community college. The woman brought her own mini-kiln. The main reason I haven't taken up silver jewelry work is because the kiln costs $2000 easy.
