Mo, you need scratchboard to make a scratchboard print! You have to buy it or paint a special paper with some ink. Then you take a scratchy tool and just scratch out some white lines.

Nope that was a relief print. You need a matrix of PCB board, a carving tool, and oil-based ink for that.

Haha pretty determined huh? Well a pcb board is like a thick, white, plasticy board. You can also use rubber. I would look for that and the ink in a craft store that has printmaking supplies. It is very important to get OIL based ink. I have a Speedball carving tool, I'm not sure exactly what it's called.
What you do is etch your design into the matrix (the board). The parts you do not carve out, the high points of the matrix, will catch ink. Apply ink to the board with a roller. Stick the board to the paper. Rub the other side with a wooden spoon, pressing the ink into the paper. When you peel the paper off of the matrix, you will see that the high points of your matrix have printed, a duplication of your design. By repeating this process, you can make many prints with one matrix.
