Well, my last name is "BΓΆse", this literally translates to "evil" in English. Also I served with the German army many years ago (JΓ€gertruppe). Why is your art so appealing to me again? Must be some psychogenetic echo from the distant past.

Aye, I'm sadly the last generation that has learned German as the second language in schools.
I've been rejected by the military and have taken to creating military art to vent my frustration.
I personally find the central European military fashion and tradition appealing, as you may have noticed.

Yes, times change a lot. When I was a kid there were two Germanys and there was still Yugoslavia. Now there is the EU and German soldiers are in Afghanistan. This world is always full of surprises.
The uniforms we had at the Bundeswehr were far less stylish, that is for sure.

Indeed. When I was a kid there were still the German Mark and Austrian Schilling and the prices were round instead of -.99.
Times keep changing I guess. Although I was no little surprised upon learning that it was the NVA that had kept the Prussian military tradition whilst the Bundeswehr seemed to have done everything in its power to erase it. I might be wrong and I apologise if so.

Yes, the NVA kept the Prussian military tradition alive because Stalin wanted to. Prussia existed, at least on the paper, until 1947, the forces were formed in 1952 (Stalin died 1953) and were called NVA in 1956. They kept the old German military tradition and combined it somewhat with the brutal system of the Red Army. Truly a hellish combination. I still remember their soldiers performing the βStechschrittβ = goose step.
They planned to march into the Netherlands and Belgium during a Cold War becoming hot, westwards together with the other Warsaw Pact armies. The estimated losses by nuclear fallout were, within 14 days, 100%.
Here is a fun fact: During the Warsaw Uprising of 1968 Moscow wanted to send NVA troops into Czechoslovakia, but somebody realized, when they were ready for the occupation, that seeing soldiers in the nearly exact same German uniforms invading this country again might be a bit of a bad idea for everyone.

Those sure were interesting times to live in. Not fun by any measure, but interesting nonetheless.

You can say that about vast parts of European history.
