I hardly have anytime these days, what with a very loud, nosey child lol.. She's great thank you! Definitely brightens up my days.. My nan died last Friday, so feeling kind of down, but my girly manages to keep a smile on my face And thank you! I really do hope you had a lovely start to 2015!

So sorry to hear about your nan - 2 years ago my grandad died 2 weeks before Christmas then my Nan died 4 days later so I lost them both. Christmas doesn't feel the same anymore

Thank you for your comment, I'm not so local anymore, but I'm still in the area with the camera quite a bit. Looking at some of your photos, we've probably passed each other in Tilgate a number of times. Happy Snapping!

TheDazman In reply to RieKid [2013-02-07 18:18:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes - Crawley

I do still get around and do visit Tilgate Park sometimes but most of my shots tend to be around Brighton these days although I am looking forward to "Wings and Wheels" this year at Dunsfold, I'll hopefully see the Red Arrows this time. Have you got any shows etc lined up for this year ?

I LOVE YOUR FIREWORK PICTURES Omg, I could just favourite them all!

TheDazman In reply to itsLHphotography [2012-03-07 17:36:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks - not sure if I'll be getting any more this year as I lost my driving licence for 12 months (Lorry driving accident). Glad you like though, and if you want to fav. them all feel free

I see you've been putting up some B&W shots lately, I like "Nowhere to be seen". I havn't really done any photography myself since Xmas but the weather is starting to change so maybe I'll get some done soon......

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

itsLHphotography In reply to TheDazman [2012-03-07 17:57:18 +0000 UTC]

Uh, are you okay?!

And I might just have to fav them all.

TheDazman In reply to itsLHphotography [2012-03-07 18:04:32 +0000 UTC]

I'm fine - I hit a telephone line with my crane which pulled a post into the road which hit a car so I was done for "Dangerous Driving" - b*st*rds.... As you guessed I drive lorries for a living but now I can't until after Xmas this year. Still, I managed to keep my job - I'm just the company "dogs body" for a year so I get to do all that crap no-one else wants to do. Never mind - shit happens....... At least I'm still working which is more than can be said for most at the moment.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

itsLHphotography In reply to TheDazman [2012-03-07 18:34:24 +0000 UTC]

Eh? That's ridiculous.. Well, as long as you still got your job though, right? Ugh, I still don't understand how you got done for danger driving.. It's bollocks.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TheDazman In reply to itsLHphotography [2012-03-07 18:37:48 +0000 UTC]

Tell me about it - The law has got a lot more strict with driving offences lately. I spent over a grand in solicitors and tried my best to have the charge changed to "careless driving" but the court would not have it. This country is going down the pan........

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

itsLHphotography In reply to TheDazman [2012-03-07 18:42:33 +0000 UTC]

The law has got more pathetic, as well as strict. I haven't even started driving yet, and I don't think I ever want to. Lol.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TheDazman In reply to itsLHphotography [2012-03-07 18:47:43 +0000 UTC]

Driving is a mine field I'll give you that and a large expense too but nothing beats the freedom of jumping in your own car and going where ever you feel like. It all depends on your life style really. My mate moved to Brighton and sold his car as he now walks every where - he loves it...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

itsLHphotography In reply to TheDazman [2012-03-07 18:50:13 +0000 UTC]

I want to learn, but in a way, I don't want to? Lol. I love walking, but I'm lazy.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TheDazman In reply to itsLHphotography [2012-03-07 18:52:39 +0000 UTC]

Learn to drive - pass your test

At least you will have it even if you don't buy a car straight away....... Lessons just keep getting more expensive and the test keeps getting harder too

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

itsLHphotography In reply to TheDazman [2012-03-07 18:53:41 +0000 UTC]

See, that's what I thought.. You'd have to buy a car straight away, I didn't really take into mind that you didn't need one, haha. And I guess you're right, I'ma do them, and hopefully pass

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TheDazman In reply to itsLHphotography [2012-01-15 14:48:03 +0000 UTC]

I Googled your camera and realised that it's a "Point and shoot", at first glance I first thought it was similar to the FugiFinepix S5500 which is a cross between an SLR and a Point & shoot camera - It has manual control over focus and more important - "Manual mode" where you can control aperture and speed. Unfortunately your camera does not.

My guess would be to use the "Sports continuous mode" and choose the lowest ISO (In your case 400 for continuous mode) and get someone to stand by with a pencil to help you focus on the first shot then just keep firing for as long as the camera is willing to shoot (prob. 15 to 20 photos). Then see if you caught any good shots, It will prob. take many attempts before you get any good ones. Even with my camera I still ended up shooting about 300 photos and only choosing 50 from that, hope this helps.

When you look for your next camera though aim for the ones that can use in manual mode and have such modes as "aperture priority" and "speed priority". With these you can do almost anything a pro photographer can do.

I loved the social life in Swindon, So many people kept in contact then with the use of CB Radios. Party's being advertised nearly every night - yes I had a good time and the people were friendly too. That was 18 years ago though and things are prob different there now...... Do you still have "magic roundabout" in Swindon ?
