# About me
I'm on and off deviantart for quite some time now, oh well... ^^ I guess the reason for me to be here and do this is that I really love finding things, like the wonderful images that are all around and just need to be picked up. If I wasn't an atheist I'd thank god for the advent of digital cameras - sadly, mine seems to be very near the end of its lifespan. It is / was a Canon Powershot A620. I loved the fact that the display can be rotated to any angle, a feature that for some odd reason isn't very popular with camera designers, or so it seems.Things I like-
Traveling, will do a long distance bike tour in the near future (*kick self*)...
Music: New Model Army, 16 Horsepower... Noir desir, Cohen, Waits, Van Zandt... Porcupine tree...
Here's the soundtrack for my gallery:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj-YND…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xXvZ3…
Movies: Man on wire, Exit through the gift shop, in a dream...
Books: This and that...
And thats that I guess. ^^
Oh wait: Things I don't like! :)
- Manga art (its all over the place, its 99.9% boring & by now I have it up to here)
- popstars / capitalism
- CCTV
- Bureaucracy. Even the word... brr...
- and loads more. If there was more plants, animals and nice people on the moon I'd live there.
Finally - Please do not use my images for anything you plan on publishing without asking first. Thank you. :)

I like what I see. If you ever do end up going for a long bike ride (I assume that is a bicycle and not a motorcycle) and you come to the US west coast, drop a note. We often give a place for bicyclists going along the Pacific coast.

i like to be different lol but becoming different is becoming quite normal these days because so many people want to be different
i'm looking for a better camera because i'm thinking of doing a photography course, can you recommend a good camera? (not too cheap but not massively expensive) lol

I'm about to get a samsung EX1, I think that's a pretty good one especially if you like to take pictures in low light conditions. Its around 300 euros over here. I also was thinking about canon EOS 60D, picture quality would be better of course and the price seems to be quite OK for what it does (min. 1000,- Euro with lenses), but I'd have to haul around a big, heavy and expensive brick which I'm not quite ready to do (yet). If you're really on a budget - I currently use a canon powershot A620, and I really liked it, it took some pretty rough handling over the years and still basically working, it has a lot of manual control (there's even a nice firmware hack for it) and you can get it pretty cheap on ebay or some such place (should go for about 100,- euros). All these cameras have a screen that can be rotated which is a feature I wouldn't want to miss.

Thanks a lot .
I understand what you like in the display of your camera. I still have a precious nikon4500 in working order, and even if I use it less now I was totally distressed when the first one broke. The rotating body is something fantastic, and this old camera is still in demand on second hand despite it's slowness, it's poor quality at high sensitivity, and the fact it has only 4 millions pixels.

I'm all exited about the EX1 right now, it has the same kind of display that can be rotated (and from the side, too, the nikon way of having it attached to the bottom of the cam really sucks because it's not really useful when on a tripod... imho, that is )

The cp4500 was special, almost totally rotating the axis...The new items with "almost" separate viewfinder is not so good.

Oh, I see what you mean, I didn't know this model, it's a whole different concept... interesting, I can imagine this would be a lot sturdier than the thin rotatable display.

Yes, it is.
It a very strange thing that this item totally out is still in demand on second hand market, rare and expensive ! Quite unique case in the world of digital cameras, were a 6 month model is old.

you're very welcome, I really like your gallery
yeah actually these canons seem to be pretty tough, I've had mine rained on (a lot), buried in sand, buried in mund, dropped on concrete and whatnot, and it's still basically sort of functioning. Still thinking about getting a samsung EX1 sometime soon, that one looks pretty fantastic...

yes, they're hard, and you can play with the light (and shutter speed) but they have very limited sensibility (mine's max is 400 iso), and resolution...
Though you obtain very good results!
I agree with you on the rotating screen, after the experience, i can't imagine without it...
by the moment I'll wait to save some money

Thanks for the Critique, I explained why it's taken a while to reply, and it won't let me reply to the actual thing, so, sorry.
I appreciate what you're saying, though I was in a very wooded place and no matter where I turned there would be a tree there.
My camera was resting on the side of a bridge so I couldn't have gotten any lower to the ground.
But thank you anyway. (:

'I couldn't have gotten any lower to the ground' - Well I really think that for the sake of the 'perfect' image you should always try to get lower to the ground or higher above it no matter what, get into the mud or get into the river...
