thx! even clean lines tend to become fuzzy when scanned, so i always do a lot of cleaning in ps and often vectorize the result to get it nice and sharp

thx! usually, people seem to prefer the colourfull stuff just because its bright, so i'm especially happy to hear that

I love your stuff! I was wondering, with the stuff you make for coloring, do you have any restrictions on what a person can do with their finished piece made from your original line art?

Tellaine In reply to KirstenStar [2011-12-12 11:03:27 +0000 UTC]
mmmh i do not really have restrictions, as long as you do something creative with it. if you mean sth like commercial use, ask me, i'd decide on a case-to-case basis for now. which particular kind of use do you have in mind though?

I have a store with the site zazzle, works like DA in that they print on demand on a range of stuff (more stuff then DA really, like iPhone cases and jewelry boxes!) but are more 'selling' focused then DA (which is more about pure art instead of designs specifically to sell). I don't get huge sales yet but this christmas has seen several and I would love to use my take on your linearts there?
Strictly speaking it is commercial as I am hoping to sell a few things but I think it does tend to be a bit of a grey area in that it's not like going into a mag or on the cover of a book but is just me trying to find ways to make art and make art that sells (how cool would it be to support myself as an artist?!?! )

ok, i checked your works and i think they are pretty awesome, very well done and creative as well!! as for the commercial use, i said that i gonna decide on a case to case basis because eventually i'd also like to try and sell some of those things. was going to try out zazzle for ages now, but seems that it won't happen before next year... anyway, if i feel that my work is used in a way similar to the way i want to use it myself, i would not want it sold by someone else. but i like very much the tiled pictures you made out of my lineart and they are very different of what i myself would have come up with, so i'd give you the permission to put those up for sale

KirstenStar In reply to Tellaine [2011-12-12 13:27:53 +0000 UTC]
You should give zazzle a try, it is really neat when someone buys something, no greater compliment imo. I am glad you like the tiled versions and hope that others do too
I assume the non-tiled one is too close to what you would do yourself. I totally understand, I have a few bits of stock and don't mind what folks do with their works using it but I do want it to be something more then a filter or something because a few are already used commercially. With enough difference, it really isn't going to compete with me and so it is fair that you not need to compete with me in the same way

thank you so much for the favs and adding my work to your collections. BTW I'm sure you realize all my work is traditional art. I wouldn't know the first thing about creating fractals.
I also want to thank you for viewing deep in my gallery. I know it can be overbearing. Each piece is pretty complex.
