A compliment coming from someone who's a much better artist, this does mean a lot to me \o/. I guess most of what I draw now is just so dependent on inside jokes with people that it feels weird to post it. I probably wont be using the dA anymore, I just left it up there so the stuff I drew before wouldnt vanish.

You're very welcome. I apologize if I didn't comment, I honestly couldn't think of anything meaningful to say except that you captured some very complex feelings that I have never been able to put into words.

Lol. I'm not entirely sure what being Taras freakin' Tompkin implies, though.
Also, I kept wondering and wondering where I'd seen you before, and then it hit me- Avalon Rosalin from fanfiction.net. Only took me a few months to figure that out. Because I'm oh-so-smart.

Pfft, like I've got anything good to say? It's awesome! What's Obama's "terrorist fist bump"?
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 02:50:33 +0000 UTC]
X"D Sorry, that should have been terrorist fist /jab/. Well, there was this thing a couple years back, where Obama and his wife fist-bumped on camera, and Fox News decided to speculate about what it could possibly be, coining the term "terrorist fist jab" as one of their options.

Haha... Well, um, let's see... (Bad at breaking the ice). ...any Hetalia pairings you like? :"D

BlackCatMisfortunate In reply to TarasTompkin [2011-07-04 02:55:41 +0000 UTC]
lol yes that looks very sinister.
I like a lot, actually... RussLiet, GerIta, GiriPan, FrUK, and USCan spring to mind. And for some reason, Rapist!Prussia. He just seems so much more likely to be driving that rapetruck toward Italy than Russia is to Lithuania, probably because Italy is a much more likely victim, neh?
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 03:03:06 +0000 UTC]
That fist bump is hinting at a plot to destroy America forever. And ever.
RusLiet, yay! I sort of like GerIta and GiriPan by default, since they're canon, but I don't do anything with them (this may or may not be because I can't draw Germany or Greece properly). >> I go back and forth between FrUK and Frussia. I like 19th century Frussia and FrUk in the modern day, I guess.
Rapetruck Prussia? Good god. Just the idea of him driving a moving vehicle is terrifying enough.
You probably already knew but RusLit and Frussia are dear to my heart. But I also like China/Mongolia in a weird blackrom/frenemy sort of way. That last one is my dirty little secret. XD
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
BlackCatMisfortunate In reply to TarasTompkin [2011-07-04 03:06:26 +0000 UTC]
I think it sort of makes sense.
A friend of mine really likes Frussia, too. I see them more as friends, probably because France is the only ally that seems to interact independently with Russia but still is sort of freaked out by him. Not a bad pairing, though.
The only pairings I outright don't like are RoChu and LietPol/PolLiet, but only for personal reasons.
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 03:10:24 +0000 UTC]
I mostly find Frussia fun because it gives me an excuse to write an adorable, innocent Russia. And because I'm mildly obsessed with the history of the 19th century. No idea why. What about you? Any historical period you really like?
...my god, I am such a nerd.

I know it's going to sound really, really cliche, but World War Two. I can't help it! It was like one of the only wars in which there was any kind of definitive 'good' and 'evil' that allowed us to just haul out and kick ass wherever necessary. It was like... that was /THE/ battle, the big one, the ultimate, high-stakes, winner-take-all clash between what's good in humans and what's bad. I also like Medieval.
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 12:52:55 +0000 UTC]
Naw, that ain't cliche. Though I don't write anything about it, Hetalia-wise, I have a secret obsession with WWII, especially the Soviet side of it, since it's part of my family history.
Medieval, you say? owo Are you a fan of medieval Liet by any chance?

YESSSSSS.
mostly because even though it was the largest nation in Europe at that time, stupid American classes don't even MENTION it. It's all England-this and England-that.
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 18:07:16 +0000 UTC]
X"D It's all about balance, really. My parents complained about just the opposite- being taught that the USSR won WWII single-handedly, which it would never have without America and England, because it was backwater and dirt-poor.
I once made a serious attempt at a WWII history fic, basically Germany and Prussia facing off against Russia at Stalingrad. I never found the time to finish, but I ended up learning so much about it. My god, it was so insane on so many levels...
đ: 0 âŠ: 1
BlackCatMisfortunate In reply to TarasTompkin [2011-07-04 18:09:39 +0000 UTC]
Stalingrad was shit-crazy, but I also think it was Russia's Crowning Moment of Awesome, or at least one of them anyway, and it seriously helped turn the war to the Allies' favor.
I usually write AU, because I prefer playing by my own rules XD

TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 18:13:45 +0000 UTC]
Any battle fought with pick-axes, shovels, and Molotov cocktails is automatically a CMOA, and Rated M for Manly.
Ooh. AU in what sense? Like, alternate history, or non-Hetalia scenarios using the Hetalia characters?

BlackCatMisfortunate In reply to TarasTompkin [2011-07-04 19:15:45 +0000 UTC]
Usually just making the nations human, and putting them in incredibly sadistic situations, or things like that.
I saved the alt. history for an original story~

TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 19:33:11 +0000 UTC]
X"D Incredibly sadistic situations, eh? Sounds like fun. My stories, whether they're Hetalia or otherwise, are almost always adorable, but often laden with Fridge Horror when you stop to think about it.

:"D Especially if it falls into the Adult Fear category. *evil laugh* I grew up watching horror movies, so I get bored reading anything gory, but I gained an appreciation of subtle psychological horror.

BlackCatMisfortunate In reply to TarasTompkin [2011-07-04 19:43:03 +0000 UTC]
I'm a huge horror movie fan, mostly zombie movies and psychological horrors like Jacob's Ladder, so I enjoy a fair amount of both. Silent Hill is probably my favorite thing ever, except I spook easy so I can't play it! The American McGee Alice games are great for me, too--stunning visuals, warped monsters, and subtle mindscrews throughout.

TarasTompkin In reply to BlackCatMisfortunate [2011-07-04 20:06:57 +0000 UTC]
I find zombies hilarious, personally, but I love horror movies that incorporate some form of apocalypse. The scariest movie I've ever seen, however, wasn't even a horror movie at all- it was Pan's Labyrinth. *brr*
Have you heard of Amnesia the Dark Descent by any chance? It's got a reputation for being the most messed up/scariest game in recent history. My friends refuse to let me play it in their presence because I enjoy it too much. XD

Pan's Labyrinth... brrr!

I don't have a game system either- you can actually play it on your PC, through a program called Steam.
X"D Pan's Labyrinth is quite creepy, isn't it? I'll never look at Spain the same way again...
