Michael Morningstar? He started off pretty strong in Alien Force. Smart, manipulative, predatory due to the nature of his powers. Granted though, there's also questioning the point of why he even exists when Kevin already exists. Then again, they decided to have Kevin transition into a good guy (in a way that made very little to no sense though). After that, Morningstar just pretty much lost his touch. He especially downgraded in the reboot show although Morningstar does seem like a better fit for Yuri Lowenthal to voice instead of Vilgax. Overall, he's decent.

Still the same Max we all knew and loved. Granted, I think they went a little too overboard with his taste in food in later iterations; especially in Omniverse.

How was his backstory with Verdonna from Ultimate Alien handled?

Not really a fan of it. I'm fine with Anodites being in Ben 10 but I don't like how it was weaved into the Tennyson family; especially just how nonsensical it was with the whole Anodites not having DNA and the completely random "spark" aspect. I like how Little Moments handled Verdona. She's just a regular human being that was married to Max and that Max was very much close to who passed away some time before the events of the OS. It makes more sense than the Anodite route, it's consistent and fits well with the continuity, it's simple, and it work well.

Likely not as much in Alien Force and at times a little too much of a joke in Omniverse but yeah, he was pretty much fine in the sequel shows. And yeah, one thing that I do praise the reboot for is getting Dr. Animo right. Dr. Animo has pretty much remained as Dr. Animo throughout the entire franchise, which I find to be good. I find him at his best in the OS because he was ridiculous while still providing some challenge to Ben, Gwen, and Max but he pretty much remained at least decent and true to himself throughout the franchise.
