Its perfectly fine to ask~ I'll tell you what I can from personal experience:

Be absolutely sure this is the character you want to start out with for your muse. I know there are several doubles of popular characters around so strive to surpass them with your skills and abilities (youareakickasswritersoyoushouldhavenoissue~) prove to others why you should be the one to follow.

Make sure you have your character planned out and have all their head canons and their bio done first. I made the mistake of opening my blog without them and I'm still having issues with gathering them all together.

Also make sure you blatantly tell people when you start and every so often that you are not your character. Say you place a racist character while you yourself are not. Don't let people become the point where they think you are the racist one. Do this frequently, once a week or when ever you get new followers.

After you get all of the basics like that, choose your theme and the banners and pictures, make sure you have permission to use them and disclaim the pieces off to the side beneath your short character blurb.

Another thing, make sure you read the head canons and bio's before you start to RP with someone, some people are fandom only, select group only, canon only and they can be rather picky.

When you choose the shipping for your character and someone tells you its not canon or good enough ignore them. Its your blog, do what you want to and don't let anyone run your blog at all.

Beyond that everything is supposed to be fun and games and stupid antics, angsty times, fluffy moments, and smuts.

Well, I'm still in the decision stage. I'm just seeing if I actually want to make one or not. So far, I'm stuck between Ghirahim, SS Link, and Pre SS Link. All of them have their appeals to me, and I'll probably end up choosing one of the three, since I"m most comfortable with these three.

Take your time to choose it and then make sure you get all of the bases covered before finally starting it up. Don't let anyone have your url till you are done either lolol
