i made the sword and colour and extra details but the outline was done by kankakanka.

[link] made some sprite bases back in november 2007 and put them in her journal for anyone to use. they may still be there if you want to look through her journal that far back.

just went and checked her journal and seems she deleted it all at some point and started again. i didn't know that. you can try contacting her on her new account which there was a link to in her current journal entry and maybe she has backups [there were different animals and poses and a lot of good extras].

i only modified this one and a few for my friends and i don't think i kept any backups of the original outlines.

are two of the others i made/modified at the time but the basic poses were there, just to let you know what was out there.

that's about all i can do, but they were very popular back then so she may have kept them or have them somewhere online.

I always notice.

I'm trained in a similar way to look at the background characters, thanks to the original Transformers media ("Woah, that's a snazzy lime green paint job! I want a toy of that guy!"), and Avatar offers a lot of room to flesh out the war going on in behind the fantasy adventure.

My displeasure with "Cracking" was really because it failed to be sufficiently "darkfic" in my mind. I don't think it failed at all at depicting war and drawing the reader in, but I expected the final result to be bleaker and darker than it wound up feeling, so that's mainly where my disappointment lies. I've written a lot worse, in terms of content and storytelling quality, but I wasn't aiming as high with those, so they were more benign in my memories.

Ah well, you know what they say about artists and their work- we're never satisfied.

Well, it was originally the cartoon for me, but then I discovered the USG2 comics when I was going into my teens, and collected the UK stuff in college. So I kept upgrading my background character love, until now I'm a "Last Stand of the Wreckers" fanboy.

i've seen background characters get effective attention and development in suikoden 3's tie in manga, the early bleach manga, and zoids chaotic century, among other series. lots of good reasons for it but business-wise it extends the life of your merchandise and opens up new marketing opportunities.

i'm a bit late to the tf comic scene but really enjoying it. they weren't available here originally that i know so most of my collection is tpb reprints. i barely remembered the g1 cartoon but loved beast wars because of it, got online and back into g1 and made a friend who was uk comics obsessed and originally couldn't understand his fascination with barely mentioned characters [unless i owned the toys personally] but i've been catching up in fits and starts, following the current comics since the 'ation' issues and last birthday added a considerable amount of the recently reprinted uk comics to my collection, so it's all good. =] i've only read the first issue of the last stand of the wreckers but i'm looking forward to the rest and some of the older uk comics i have feature the wreckers. ;] wish i could write background characters like that, nice to meet another fan though.

didn't know there was a difference [except maybe missing out on the potential reader letters]. thanks for that, and the link. i love bios but the price and having it sooner might be a deciding factor. ;] plus the exclusive short story doesn't sound half bad either.
