I love your authors stamp. I agree. A lot of people treat authors like cr@p. Lit. is art!

StraightJacketRed In reply to MikaPika7 [2011-06-15 23:10:04 +0000 UTC]

My only problem, is that most people who support lit on this site, dont normaly read. Because if every writer would read one piece a day, we wouldnt have this problem.

Don't thank me, go out and do what I did. The more people are active in reading others prose, the more comments your sure to get. Besides, if your not willing, why should others be willing to read your stuff?

Thank you, sorry this is so late.

I've been working on my detail and cumulative syntax since I last submitted anything.

How are your artistic endeavors coming? I spoke with a book publisher and he said that the author of Harry Potter, was rejected a dozen times before a publisher accepted her work. As soon as I get my computer I am going to start developing a kids story line. ET phone home!!! Collect! MA

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

StraightJacketRed In reply to GreenMaelstrom [2009-09-20 00:09:23 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, good books get rejected all the time because the publishers dont think it will sell.

I'm still working on the outline and plan to have that finish mid winter. (my book that is) About the kids story, we should work on the basics before we get into anything. Like plot, story and basic consept. Any ideas?

I sent another Woodsman sketch, hope it is closer to your vision. I will also read the story again, for clarity. Good Luck with editing.

I hope you like the woodsman image but more info would be best. Skinny, muscular, decrepid, bulky, age, personality...you know. I will ready the story again, since I read it a while ago. I hope you like the Stephen King book, It is quite funny.

From king? It better not be funny!

GreenMaelstrom In reply to StraightJacketRed [2009-10-13 14:13:21 +0000 UTC]

Stephen King is a great writer and he has a lot to say about hte craft. I learned a lot. He probably does not get much chance to be funny, but his childhood certainly was comical.

StraightJacketRed In reply to Drenton [2009-07-27 00:12:01 +0000 UTC]

Over the last several years I've been writing a book, currently I've gone through 2 rough drafts and 3 outlines. I'm writing the last outline now. It's fantasy and I'm still working out the plot (again)

I can't wait to see it done and published!

But enough about that, what have you been up to?

Hey green!

Sorry this is so late, I'm going through my inbox now. Seems like things are slowing down at work.

I've had the mail box out for some time, (since you left) nothing yet.

Ive got to go over around 140 pieces in my inbox, 260 if I hadn't have gone through it already. Most of them arn't worth the look over, doodles and what not...

Oh, and I'll be featuring you in a journal, (That is to say whats left of my watchers haven't just said "fuck it.") Get some new stuff, but don't just slap a bunch of pics, make sure they're worth it.

GreenMaelstrom In reply to StraightJacketRed [2009-10-06 15:22:50 +0000 UTC]

The point was that everyone gets rejected at first, but that should not discourage you from persisting. I think Stephen King said try the same publisher 4-5 times and THEN move to another one. One thing the Borders bookstore guy said was that being written by someone with Autism is very popular right now and that alone will spark interest. Thanks to other autistic writers! He also presented his card and said to invite you to a signing once you get published. He would love to have you in his store signing books.

StraightJacketRed In reply to GreenMaelstrom [2009-10-07 00:52:26 +0000 UTC]

In that case I better start writing, I've been focused on so many other things that I've almost left my book in the dust. Although I am still in the outline, I'll be done with that in a month or so. Thanks alot!
