That's good. I'm about t play some Pokemon Heartgold. I never thought I'd pick it back up again.

It's one of the best games in the series (it's still my favorite, mainly because of walking Pokemon).

That's true. I'm not used to the 3D battles in X/Y, so I stick with Heartgold since that's the one I'm familiar with the most. Plus I'm having a blast of taking down the Elite Four the first time with the right party. I probably won't like facing their stronger Pokemon later on once I have all of the Kanto badges, especially Lance.

It's essentially just a marathon match it's really only for when you want to test yourself.

EV training is interesting and kind of tricky, I don't know about doing it in Gen 4 but Gen 5 I tried it and it was okay, but it's really easy to do in Gen 6 they added a mini game to make it a ton easier.

I saw that it was easier to do in Gen 6. I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out in Heartgold. Thank goodness for the Exp.Share.

I do enjoy using Rock Smash in certain places in Heartgold. I didn't see much use for it until now, especially now that I have a way to make money without facing the Elite Four over and over again.

It really isn't. I got the most of Pokemon from playing Dragon Warrior Monsters a long time ago.

What I can say was leveling was a heck of a lot easier in that game than in Pokemon.

Well it was, but you we're supposed to raise a monster to max level you were supposed to mix it to make a stronger monster.

That's what I did on that game. That's how I have a team of Boss family monsters and having each of them with +15 from breeding helps a lot. The best place to train in was the Gate of Control (Slimes). Fighting 3 Metabbles there was the best way to get any monster to max level in a few hours with the use of the ShinyHarp.
