You can do some modelling at 16+ just not that sort of modelling. Most paid work won't come till you're 18 cause of legal reasons but you can start building a portfolio with TFP work.

Still, I was scared out of it. I was talking with Nils Bratby about shooting and he warned not to work with photographers who would be willing to shoot without a parent to sign a model release. It's fine, I'll just try to cram stuff in before I head off to uni

That's a fair point. It depends what the photographers are after and what they're using them for. Personally when I was 18/19 and starting out it wasn't a big deal to me cause I was starting out. Now days probably not the same tbh.
