Some tips for sketches:
-Use light pencil lines, or, if you're digital, a translucent brush
-Don't draw without framework! Always put down certain guidelines, like the face and body shape and where they eyes should go, before adding details.
-Never hyperfocus on one part of your sketch. You'll end up with a drawing that's partly detailed and partly sloppy.
-Plan a pose ahead of time. If it's needed, do a mini-drawing before starting on the final sketch.
-Don't outline the sketch immediately after you're done! Take a break between the sketch and the final product. If you sketch and outline everything in one go, there might be mistakes you didn't notice before that you only notice after the drawing is impossible to erase.
-Use reference for the human body if needed. If you need any pose references, I found three great places to look:
