Since I'm totally hooked on it currently, how about any of the melee weapons from Warframe?
Or maybe Crimson Ruination from Dungeons and Dragons: vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/f⦠edited to be a little more... useable, if you get my meaning.

I've never played Warframe, but I have been interested in some of their melee weapon designs... Did you have any favorites in mind? I'd be interested in seeing them!

well, there's a trio of katana's with interesing tsubas which all have "Nikata" in their names. The Skana's an interesting take of a blade as well. There's just so many! suprising for a shooter.
My personal baby is the Nikata prime vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/wβ¦ although it's pretty boring compared to some of the weapons, I'd want either this, the Dakra prime vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/wβ¦ or the Nami Skyla vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/wβ¦
Another blade set I'd kill for would be the lion and eagle swords from Prince of Persia Warrior Within.

Might I make a suggestion? Sword Art Online, Kirito's first and second Duel sets.

Could you be a little more specific? I'm actually not that familiar with Sword Art Online. I'm aware of Kirito's most well known swords though: Elucidator and Dark Repulsor?

Lucas-Stl In reply to Solvash [2015-08-04 02:13:40 +0000 UTC]
Ya, those are his first season duel set, his second set is harder to name... mainly because they don't have names other then "Long sword" and "2nd Long sword", but both where made out of paper by Youtuber Returacan
However... though he does give links to his wips, they are hard to mimic...

Ahhh, I see. I think I know which ones you're talking about now. Yeah, I'll add it to the list! It may be some time before I'll be able to complete and upload them, but since they're part of a set I'll probably upload both at once once they're done. So keep an eye out for them!

Hahaha, thank you for uploading them! I had made my own pair of 3d maneuver gear blades a couple months ago (although I still haven't finished them...) and I had such a rough time finding good references. Hahaha
So your vector image helps a lot.

It's not so much GOOD references as CONSISTENT references I've had trouble with... even the licensed stuff can't seem to make up its mind on how it wants to look. So, if you want the show's interpretation, I suppose my vector is a good start point; best of luck on yours, though from the look of your other sword work, I doubt you'll need it xP

Thanks ^^ You do those carvings only with files and chisels? BECAUSE THEY ARE SO AWESOME *---* (Also, my grammar isn't perfect as English isn't my mother language)

Solvash In reply to FabiojapaxD [2013-03-10 01:56:13 +0000 UTC]
No, I do most of the work a Dremel. Like this: [link]
Although file and chisels do help. <:
(And it's fine. Hahaha...)

Hello. Long time no talk haha I love your Oathkeeper keyblade so I was just wondering, what wood would you advise since you said birch wood wasn't the best wood to use? And what tools do you use to carve? I plan to get a dremel but I'm not so sure yet. I'm only a beginner but I would love to receive advice from you haha n__n thank you
π: 0 β©: 2
Solvash In reply to Rasoire [2013-01-24 22:31:34 +0000 UTC]
But psh, I don't see why you'd need my advice. I'm still blown away by your Ventus Keyblade Armor set. And your Wayward Wind is one of the best I've seen. <:

Solvash In reply to Rasoire [2013-01-24 22:30:20 +0000 UTC]
Hey. <:
And thank you! I'm hoping to finish it soon, actually. OTL Hahaha...
But I'd try Pine Sande(or Sanded? I'm not sure, I've seen it as both) Plywood or MDF, you can get both at Home Depot. I haven't personally gotten around to trying these yet, I wanted to test them out on the next keyblade I do. But I've seen some good results from other people who've made keyblades using these materials.
And for carving? All I used for the Oathkeeper was my Dremel. Seriously. A rotary tool is one of the best investments you can make if you plan to work with wood. I recommend getting one of the corded Dremels, by the way. The battery powered ones are too weak or lose power too quickly. The only other tools I used on the Oathkeeper was my jigsaw to cut it out, a mouse sander, and some files.
