It all depends on your level of French and your interest! In most cases people recommend reading simpler, child-like-ish things. You can easily find the french version of most old fairytales online for free, which are always fun to re-read and easy enough to understand. Another option would be to find the French version of a book you already read and/or own - this way you can always refer to your memories or your English version book to figure out parts you don't quite get. You can also watch a movie in English with French subtitles (or in French dub with English subtitles if you wish to practice listening).

That's a good question. I read mostly in English nowadays, but I would recommend checking the classics such as the ones recommended on this web page ; [link] they're all excellent writers with amazing stories, and should be pretty easy to find. I heard there's also 'bilingual' versions of that kind of book, so you can read it in French and refer to the English part if you get confused at some part.
Otherwise, I'd say, just google a bit
