the first one was my student film together with 8 other people. the next ones i only did some animation, but its time consuming and difficult as with all animation productions.

Keep animating. The more you do, the better you get.
Don't draw too tight too fast, especially when animating ACTION scenes. Your first pass should be loose and rough, mainly shapes, don't worry about details. That comes after you get the movement working the way you want it. Thumbnails help a lot before animating a scene. When drawing really small (thumbnails) you tend to get a better silhouette and you can work out the scene without too much pencil mileage put in.
Don't be afraid to put fast action on twos. You can do fewer drawings and get a nice "pop" in the action. Sometimes ones slows down the action because you can SEE the drawings too well. As long as you have good ANTICIPATION and good Overshoot and settle, your mind will fill in a lot of the action without actually having to draw it.
When drawing CARTOONY animation (as opposed to boring realistic) don't be afraid to exaggerate poses. Make your SQUASHES are more squashed and your STRETCHES more stretched.
More importantly---- timing. To get a good "texture" in your scenes make sure things aren't all evenly timed. Make sure you have some slow areas and some fast areas that give the scene some variety and contrast within the scene.
And MOST importantly---have fun. You can feel it in someone's animation when they had fun doing the scene. The passion shows.

P.S. How do you load animation on Deviantart? I've made some gifs for the helluvit and they load fine (except for one that plays kind of slow), but I've never found good instructions on how to load animation clips.Β

for the animation, you should be able to upload a quicktime file or .avi after you hit the "submit art" button. after that you choose your category and all that

Thanks. I tried loading a quicktime file once before and it didn't work. I'll try it again sometime. I need to convert my animation from VHS Video format (because I'm an old fart and we did stuff on video back in the day) to digital, so I can put more stuff up on the interwebs.

Hello! Well, something that already floated around in my head but I really need to tell you this now. You're really some kind of huge inspiration to me! I saw your improvement over the years in your gallery. And it's just awesome to see the development from only drawing as some kind of hobby until now as professional animator since I do know that it isn't that easy. I'd love to become an animator as well since it's a huge passion of mine. I also do know that I still have a lot to learn. But when I see your gallery it really motivates me a lot that I'll hopefully reach my goal someday!

And I somehow know that feeling too well. I actually try to keep my old art to look back at it later on and tell myself that I actually improved over the years even if it somehow seemed impossible. But later you are just happy about your improvement XD
That long way to go is actually a thing that also fascinates me a lot about it. You always learn something new about it. No matter how much you've read, tried out or did whatever. And the fact that you learn it by doing. Everywhere you go to and everyone you meet teaches and tells you new things about it.
And even if you know that it's still a very long way to go makes it just more exciting!
That's awesome! But sad too :V Hopefully you can make it here next year! Already looking forward for future projects
