I've modified mine so that I can use 600 film as SX70 is rare in Australia. I picked mine up second hand in the early 90's when I worked in a one hour processing lab.

i think its pretty much hard to get the film anywhere, haven't they discontinued it? a friend at uni had real issues getting hold of it. is it the same film that you can manipulate by rubbing it with say a pencil? i cant remeber the guys name but he had loads of them that looked like paintings?!

Yep that's the film. It has been discontinued. The 600 film (which is still available) fits in the SX70 camera, but it can't be manipulated and it is 2 stops slower (?) so the camera needs to have the ND filter removed from the light meter and an ND filter popped over the lens.
I think there might still be some people selling out-of-date SX70 film on e-bay from time to time.
