Tony couldn't help the smirk when the kid looked at him with such an expression. He loved this part of the job the most.
"Well hello there. Not every day a kid decides to take a tour of the Avengers compound, but still, welcome."

"Is that was this is? Haha, fuck. Sorry dude. I didn't know. I, uh, I'm kinda lost." Kyle laughed nervously, wringing his hands in together in an almost embarrassed way. In any other situation, he would've snapped angrily, his temper and pride getting the better of him, but this wasn't just some random asshole on the street. This was Tony Stark himself; one of Kyle's heroes. He couldn't bring himself to snap at him.
"I'm from Colorado, y'know? So, like, I'm not too used to around here. Honestly, I'm not even really supposed to be here. Me and my friend Stan are out here looking for my little brother. He went missing." The boy's joy very quickly faded at the stinging reminder of his missing little brother. This wasn't the first time, but this was the worst. Ike had gone missing without a trace, and god knows it was more concerning than the times where he'd run away and left a note -- or the time where he'd been abducted by aliens. That was a whole different situation.

Tony became serious almost immediately. Well this wasn't exactly how he wanted to start his morning off, but still it was better than sitting around in the lab going through mind numbing emails that mostly discussed business deals and possible contract signings.
"I see. Let's just head on towards the lab and we can check and see where your brother went. You remember where you and your friend last saw your brother?" he asked as he led Kyle to the lab just downstairs. "If I can get a description, then we can start looking for clues there."

The boy anxiously tugged at his jacket, his brows furrowed in concern and worry. Clearly he was upset by the situation, as much as a ten year old could be. He was, however, quick to follow the man to the lab. After all, why shouldn't he trust this guy? He was literally a superhero.
"Well, um, back home. In Colorado. He went missing one day while school was in, and we just-- haven't seen him since. Mom's been a wreck." The more he went on, the more saddened his tone seemed to get, his voice even cracking every now and then due to such emotions. "Um, he's like... up to my shoulders, black hair, kinda pale... He's Canadian. Like, he doesn't look anything like me or my parents, 'cause he's adopted. Last time I saw him he was- he was wearing his green jacket, that stupid red South Park Cows shirt, and jeans. I think. I'm pretty sure."
Kyle reached into his pocket and pulled out his cellphone, nearly dead due to how little him and Stan stopped their search to refuel themselves, much less electronics. "I think I have a picture of him."

Tony had been following a lead on a Hydra base which SHIELD had presumed had been abandoned. Either they circled around and filled it up again or SHIELD hadn't looked as closely as the billionaire would think they could have.
Friday had heard the gunshots before he did. He followed the source and flew right into the men with the guns, because firing weapons near civilians was VERY bad. Activating the tasers, the shot multiple wires at them all until each and every one of them knocked out from the shocks.
That all taken care of, Tony contacted the police and paramedics in case anyone was hurt and checked the surrounding area. A lot of these guys were here, so obviously they were after something...or someone. He checked heat signatures and walked up to a building someone seemed to hiding in.
"Alright, come on out. The cavalry has arrived."

So... the quarrel between Stark and Rogers finally concluded, but it's been rather- years since the two main Avengers have interacted. Rhodes stood at Tony's side when they were hunting down Cap's squad, but ever since everything ended... and his accident... Rhodes has been taking it easy- he was more than grateful that Stark helped him get on his feet... what they shared- was a true friendship. Depsite Tony being a quite busy, frantic man, he was one of James's closest friends.
Rhodes kinda placed aside some paperwork in the lab in the Avenger's facility, seemed like some more Sokovia Accords bullshit stuff that Ross sent. The man paced around the room slowly, looking out the window. He finally got used to the tech that Stark made him to be able to walk, and he was grateful for it- the War Machine would be decommissioned if it wasn't for his friend. He wondered where Stark was, he assumed still in the lab making another suit?
He walked down the corridor, leaving the main laboratory behind him. Pacing by the glass windows surrounding him, rays of sunshine beamed through the entire hall. He then walked down the stairs, being led down to his friend's mancave.
"Tony...? You down here?"
His friend called out as he neared the door. Rhodes opened the door, looking around the much bigger lab than Tony's former abode in Malibu.

"Like always, Pooh Bear!" Underneath one of his exposed suits, which was being held up by some chains, Tony raised his goggles and turned to see his best friend at the lab's entrance. "Ah, a look of utter despondency. We got more paperwork from Ross again, didn't we? I told you to just throw it in the fireplace. It makes great kindling."
Putting his tools aside, he walked over to offer Rhodey a seat. Even with the legs, the billionaire still cared for his friend's well-being. He felt it his fault that he even got this way in the first place...he was always taking the blame for things, it seems like. Nothing ever really changes around here when it comes to Stark, but he was trying. He really was.
"Okay, joking aside, what's up? You only come down here to give me new files to read over or to see if I still have a pulse. It's going steady, by the way...though every now and again I think it speeds up when I'm just sitting down. Is that normal?" Still joking. Things really never change.

Rhodes gave a chuckle, pacing over towards the new suit being worked on, looking around the lab. Seeing Tony offer him a seat, he took the chair and eased into it gently.
"-But yeah, honestly, that paperwork stuff bored the hell outta me... just had to step outta the office up there for a bit, so I thought I'd come over to see what you were up to. I know you've been doing... well, better, I guess? Definitely better from other times, I'll say that much. "
He shrugged, a small smile emitting from his face.

ooc. Okay, so unless you have a Core Membership, all the gifs you make need to be 100 x 100 in size. I've tested this enough to find out the limit and that's it. Save all your gifs to Sta.sh, because it's easier to manage and that's what I do. For some people, they use the Add Media thing at the bottom left of their replies to add gifs to their comments, but I usually open a separate tab on my computer and copy and paste the gifs onto my replies. Copying and pasting is far more easier for me. xD And if you want to make your own gifs, I have a website saved up on here that's helped me tremendously. It resizes bigger gifs and makes them 100 x 100 without completely messing up its quality. All you need to do is ask~

Rhodes listened to his friend talk. Well, Stark was right- he did take a long time to adapt to the tech that helped him overthrow paralysis. He was glad it worked out- because the War Machine wasn't ready for decommissioning JUST yet. He then listened to his friend ramble on, as he usually did, their friendship practically revolved around Stark bouncing off the walls and Rhodey trying to catch him before he busted a hole in the wall.
"Really now... an uncle, am I?"
"Yeah, I figured... kinda actually HAD to step in and help you, man. Your life was literally on the line, man."
Rhodes then leaned back in the chair and crossed his arms. How was he doing? Let's face it, both of these men have faced some absolutely crazy shit, not to mention that Rhodes voluntarily stepped in to help out Tony in any possible situation- heck, he got his own suit for doing so, so lucky? He guessed so. Civil War? Probably one of the most life-threatening situations that he's ever faced. He was lucky to be alive- if it weren't for Tony and his genius tech, he'd probably be moping in a wheelchair back at Ross's office, actually having to do paperwork...
"How am I? Um, just truly- well, grateful man. You saved me from having to deal with Ross in person every DAY- without having the means of walking out of his office."
He scoffed softly, a soft chuckle following.
"In all seriousness though, Tony- I gotta thank ya for what you did for me. I honestly am at a significantly better spot than I would've been."
He nodded slowly, a small sigh coming out of his mouth.
"But at the same time, I ain't gonna be no burden on you, you're a busy man with busy stuff, as am I."

i. despite the benefits of being a defective turret, such as having an independent conscious, he still endured malfunctions. occasionally parts of his limbs would falter and he'd be forced to sit and wait until his programming corrected itself. this happened to be one of those occasions. it was one of the few times oracle turret decided to wander through the crowded city. he had done quite a bit of walking, which he concluded is what made his limbs falter. he barely managed to slip his way into one of the alleyways to obscure himself from the public. the last thing he wanted was to appear suspicious to people. to his knowledge, humanoid robots weren't something that frequented the streets.
ii. oracle turret sat down beside one of the buildings in the alleyway, back leaning against the brick exterior. crimson optics brightened the alleyway accompanied by a few sparks flying from his eyes and legs. a bit of time had passed until he picked up the sound of someone else's footsteps echoing in the alleyway. the robot froze, gaze shifting to locate the origin. his red optics flashed towards tony, taking in his features as his eyes moved like a camera lens. he raised his hand, attempting to transform it into a machine gun out of fear and protection- but due to his malfunctioning limbs the effort was futile. sparks flew from his wrist and digits as his hand began to twitch. all he could do was scoot away from the other with a panicked expression.

The one time he decides to take a short cut, he runs into a little robot boy who looked like any other terrified child. Seeing him pull out the machine gun, Tony had been fully prepared to take cover and summon his suit, but the malfunction bit happened and...well, Tony just snorted and laughed.
"Uh...I know that probably wasn't what you intended, but all for the best, right? The last thing you want to do is kill someone like me. It would end poorly for you."
Walking up to the child, he kneeled down and offered him a hand. "Listen, I'm not the kind of person who would randomly hurt someone, especially a kid. You look like you need some help, so...let's get you out of this alley and someplace safe, huh? Besides, I'm an engineer and you look like you could use a bit of fixing up. Just saying."

i. at their laughter, oracle turret shrunk back in shame. the rest of his kind were programmed perfectly to kill on sight, but he was a reflection of their mistake. he couldn’t even protect himself. as they neared he froze in place, anticipating the worse- though much to his surprise the other offered assistance. crimson optics scanned the stranger with suspuscion before glancing at their hand. he finally complied, taking their hand while attempting to stand up shakily. sparks continued to fly off his legs. it was like a child learning to walk all over again. oracle turret peered up at tony while allowing his appearance to store in his memory’s banks. his voice was distorted as he spoke.”who are you?”

i. being the son of a god had made the teen a bit too prideful. he looked at himself as though he were superior considering he was equipped with unnatural abilities. among them being the ability to create nightmares and enhanced speed and endurance. unfortunately he wasn't one to use them for the well being of others. it was another occasion in which cassidy utilized his abilities to get his way. he wandered through the busy streets, catching a glimpse of someone who appeared wealthy based on their attire. little did the teen know his intended target was tony stark. cassidy approached the wealthier individual, bumping into them before swiftly reaching a hand into their pocket to pull out their wallet. he had managed to slip it out with a grin forming on his face- prepared to make a run for it if the other noticed.

ooc. Of course everything will be fine in the end, but I still didn't like the results of this first part. So sad... TT3TTTony didn't even look phased as an alert showed up on the screens of his aviators and the wallet permanently sealed itself up so no one could use it. A little countermeasure for any pickpocketing punk who tried to weasel in on Tony's money. If they wanted it so much, they could get a job like everyone else.
Turning around, he stared this kid in the eyes and raised a brow. "You know, you won't be getting much from that wallet. I've just sent an alert to my bank to your attempted theft and they've temporarily closed my accounts. Not only that, but I made that wallet myself and even the cash inside is sealed up tight. There's a time limit to it and soon it will all be destroyed, so...yeah, unless you return that, you're getting nothing out of me."

ooc. i think the ending with peter hurt me the most. he’s just a child,, but they got rid of people who are still in contracts so we know they’ll be back for more movies. & of course the end credits scene was a giveaway.

He had never seen technology like that- but to be fair, he lived in a secluded area where others like him were hidden from the public. they said it was for the safety of regular humans, as though demi-gods and monsters like him were a threat.”What the hell?? Fine. Take the stupid wallet. I..I don’t need it anyway.”ii. cassidy grumbled while offering the wallet to tony. it was clear from the frustration on his face that he had needed the money. the teen left his school to see the outside world until he traveled a bit too far without any money in hand. and now that his stomach was churning for food, he could feel the regret.
