Grew up in El Paso, been in the DFW area since 1997 - sort of. Had a couple of brief moves to Denton, which a lot of people don't consider as part of DFW.
Currently in Plano, which is about 30-40 minutes north of downtown Dallas.

I consider it barely a part of DFW. It's removed enough to have its own culture, one kind of like Austin in the 80s or early 90s - and back in phone line days, it was a long distance call from all of DFW.

that said, I love Denton, and plan to move back sooner rather than later.
