I wouldn't say they are regular animal mascots. They are inspired by mythology. I think that's cooler than plain animal mascots, since it represents the country's culture. Still, I feel Miraitowa and Someity represent the country, too (but in a different manner).

I think it's a cool activity for them, and it will help enhance their creativity. Plus, it would be cool if a young Chinese student got to create the new mascots.

Unfortunately I can't say I know the names of many Japanese voice actors (or English / Spanish voice actors, for that matter). I can imagine their voices in my head, though. But I'm not sure they correspond to specific voice actors or actresses.

I'm glad candidate A won. Personally, I don't think it's exactly the same. I have nothing against Candidates B and C. They were nice... I just happened to like the winning duo, but I don't hate the other ones!

I liked candidate B (especially the Paralympic mascot). Candidate C was somewhat cute, but I found the mascots a bit silly / not that appealing. I know many adults were rooting for Candidate C because they were based on Japanese mythology, but I liked the other candidates better. Still, Miraitowa and Someity were my favourite duo. I'm happy they won! ^_^

Well, they look nice where they are. I actually considered drawing Someity's logo. That moon on her forehead looks cute. However, I always draw Vini and Tom without logos because that makes them look more natural, so I decided to remove Someity's logo as well, just to show some consistency.

I guess the winners were just a bit cooler and more appealing to kids in general. I must think like a kid, because candidate A was my favourite as well. Even if some adults preferred candidate C, I think those characters looked a bit silly. B was a bit cuter, but I still think A was better, plus I like their personalities and powers.
