Anytime!
It was so strange for me as well after traditional media too, but once you get more into it, will show you many chances and ways to draw what traditional media not that flexible with! )
If you though like more traditional media looking and working works I can offer you an art program for use; artrage. It perfectly imitates many traditional tools, not only the texture and look it also imitates different art paper´s behaviour and the tool´s behaviour as well. )

If you are interested can share with you my s.key as I have original (bought it online as the trial won my heart).
It is good to make different ideas when you colour, SAI is not bad program though I find it hard for beginner art program for some reason. Or might be it is because I am ways more got into photoshop as primary art program and SAI was very different after PS )

yay, sure i´m interested ^^
thank you for the offer!
well, i used very simple methods of colouring up to now, painting-techniques are new to me.
i like the possibilities of SAI thus far and feel it´s pretty intuitive to get into the different tools and such. on the other hand i don´t have much of comparison. i tried PS once for one or two days, but without a GT, just with a mouse, and was so horrified that i didn´t touched digital drawing for two years anymore.
i´m just a little disappointed about the high praised intensity of pressure. as i get it that intensity just counts for the pen-tool. if i use brush and others they have exactly zero intesity.
and that´s not because i have a trial version. i invested in a licensed version.

Download "ArtRage Studio" (not the pro, the simple one it suppose to have greenish icon and features) from their official site a trial version, and then I dropping you a note with the key to use. )
It is very fancy and many people bet on Painter saying that is ways more pro for artists then Photoshop but trust me you would need a tutor for that program to even get half of it, ArtRage does the same and ways more easier and more user friendly interface.
The Stdio handles; marker, pencil, oil, watercolour, pen types, airbrush and some more also with chance to pick canvas by your likes which imitates watercolour paper or more rough, or canvas.
The best in it the program gives perfectly out the traditional media´s texture, behaviour and style. So if you were traditionalist you will be very handy with it. That is why it got my heart so fast, I still find myself more experienced and bound to trad media so if I can digitally work like traditionally really makes things easier and better!
I also have licensed SAI, and use it for the inks and the vector part as SAI is amazing with the inking pen, and the vector use in it is very simple and ways more easy to me then for example illustrator.
What tablet do you use? Or doing it with mouse?
I could give some ideas with the pressure issue if you can tell me what you have and use recently )

[link] this one suppose to be, the icon should look like here.
There is artrage 2 an older version, and artrage pro which I dont have as it only had a little extra but 20$+ for it.
It suppose to be officially artrage 3 but they named it stduio instead of 3 for some reason. )

alright, i try to get my hands on artrage then!
my tablet is the intuos 5 of wacom.
i know that many complain about lacking software on that piece but i decided to get that model anyways.
in general i like it, but i can´t use three of the four functions of the touch-ring for SAI at least...

Widdershins-Works In reply to SakeKaizen [2012-10-04 19:24:52 +0000 UTC]
Welcome to my club, have the same tablet as well.
So far what I noticed that the latest Photoshop and intous 5 are great enemies, and the touch pad is a bit uncontrollable, very-very sensitive. I usually turn it off as it makes my computer live its own life.
SAI is a fancy program but I am somehow sure that Intous 5 would need a patch or an upgraded driver to work properly. I also having issue with it, and in the latest PS the pressure simply not existed at all.
As I got back my good ol´ German CS4 back, that works fine with it at last. But as it is the latest intous which is very popular from WACOM I am sure these will be fixed up soon enough.
