I have a question related to the upcoming game Homefront:

Now I think the story so far sounds bad and cliched, and while I believe that everything has potential Homefront just sounds like Red Dawn: the game (it's even written by the same guy).

The main reason people are defending the story is that Americans can only understand suffering better if it's happening to them, but if you ask me, Americans are the people I think would be the MOST insulted, they don't play games to see what they think could be their backyard, they play games to get AWAY from that, I've actually seen more jokes about Americans made by Americans then anyone from another country.

And frankly I think the only people who would only sympathize with the characters because the story goes out of it's way to make Americans suffer are the kind who wouldn't care about anyone who isn't American afterwards anyway, and go on about how America is a "Christan nation" and think that EVERY country outside of America is poor and dystopic.

So do you think that Americans would understand kind of suffering that goes in North Korea because of the game, or that they would be the most insulted that the writers think they DON'T understand the kind of suffering that goes in the DPRK unless the same context is applied to Americans (except for the fanatical racist minority who would wouldn't care about non-Americans after playing the game anyway)?
