hope you don't mind if I just list them here
1. where do you get the materials for the mold making, and how do you shape the plastic to it, etc?
2. what kind of materials do you recommend for gluing or putting different parts together?

Yeah no problem.
So far I only ever used plastics for the Kingdom Key Keyblade and that was an almost glass like material I purchased at Home Depot. I don't actually use molds, mainly because I could never figure out how to use it well enough. So I'm sorry that I really can't help much in that area.
I may have misunderstood the second one, but I use either Gorilla Glue or Gorilla Super Glue for many props.

it does help, my follow up question being, how do you shape your plastics so far? and what was the name of the glass like material?

I've rarely needed to shape it, but I've been playing with using a heat gun recently to bend it, I also use a tool called a dremel tool to cut into it. The plastic I used is called plexiglass, a little on the brittle side but it's worked well enough for me.

I think I purchased mine for around $20, it was the cheapest in stock but it works well.
