It just felt like the thing to do. I honestly wasn't doing much with my "new" account. It was kind of fizzling. I think the fact that I was abandoning much of my old portfolio and connections just wasn't sitting right with me, especially since I'm in a retrospective phase.
So if I had to boil it down, I would say it was a mixture of inactivity and nostalgia.

Yeah, I think I get what you're saying. Whenever there is a big spurt of progress of a shift in style, I'm always tempted to just kind of start fresh. Thats really more of a thing with blog than with dA for me, since as a gallery it serves as an archive.
