Firstly.... Let me say

It's always nice to see more talent coming to the site- and you've got some wicked skills.
You've certainly got your own style- but I'm reminded of Dave McKean (he's an artist- and also did the visuals/designs for the movie "Mirror Mask") Are you familiar with his stuff?

ps... My leading inspiration is M.C. Escher.... He's one of the original fantasy art kings (in my book)

Yeah I'm still new to DA, so still playing around a bit with the stuff here. Also I'm trying to get used to my new scanner, so hopefully I can put up more complete and thought out work, rather than quick sketches. ^^'

I haven't heard of those two artists you mentioned before, so thanks for the recommendation! I'd certainly look up their work, because Im quite interested in the fantasy like aesthetic style. It's great that I can now get some inspiration.

I'm actually quite a fan of surrealism really. Can't really name any specific artists, but there are some real crazy and refreshing ideas out there. :P (Lick)

Yeah... It took me a while to get used to how this site works too!... Of course- the fact that I'm SO bad with computers they practically EXPLODE when I'm around didn't help either. :D (Big Grin)
Here's to hoping the 'Scanner Sprite' works it magic for you.... I can't wait to see what else you've got in the wing.

You should check them out.... They have completely different styles from each other... But both love to take the ordinary, and give it a twist.... You should also check out the movie "Mirror Mask" (I HIGHLY recommend all surreal artist see it).... The story is "Alice in Wonderland-ISH", but it's the world the artist has created that takes the cake.

I'm a fan of surrealism too. (obviously) but it depends on the artist.... Like all things, there's some artist I like, and then there's some I don't (and then there's some that just leave me going "what the HELL?!?!........"
eh- such is the world.

So- Welcome once again to the madness.... And I shall warn you now.... I'm WATCHING you :) (Smile)
