Have you rewatched the series for the anniversary?

And so that stingy beaver is your fav? I LOL'd loud in the amusement park episode when his son destroyed the rides and T and P now own the establishment and forced them to work. Also WORD for the flood episode (where Boss Beaver made his debut!)

Of the characters introduced specifically for the show, Smolder and Speedy are my fav.

I've been watching the series on my computer for almost every week. Boss Beaver is one of my favorite new recurring characters. My other favorites are Quint, Speedy the Snail, Fred, Irwin, and the two cheetahs.

About the "flood" episode, are you referring to the one where Timon and Pumbaa had to build a dam for Boss Beaver while wearing construction hats and beaver teeth?

As I stated, I finished a compelte rewatch back in August just in time to make it for the 20th anniversray.

Yes the episode where Beaver debuts where T and PU are working to build a dam is what I'm referring to.

What do you think of how the series portrayed T and P? For all the criticisms many Lion King fans ahve (which actually are justified to various degrees) one of the things I honestly disagree with is the claim the series lacks character development and portrayed the movie characters as shallow mocking paroides of themselves.

Although it doesn't excel in the traditional sense of the word (people grow and change as they face the hardships of life), the tv show actually has good characterization, even excelling in some episodes in terms of portraying various aspects of the personality for Timon and Pumba themselves. HellI praise the series because not only does it exapand on their personality allwith their motivations, quirks, ambitions, and set solid beliefs and hobbies but the series does so WITHOUT DIRECTLY CONTRADICTING whats portrayed at the film. Basically  IHO its a wonderful example of "developing a character beyond their main series (that already had developed them well enough to be beloved)". Even Simba gets a lot more shades of personality that they didn't show in the filsm while at the same time remaining faithful to his original characterization in the films.

Its a shame T and P will not only never be canon but not even thenoncontradictory and worthy expansion to canon such as the new cast or  further insight into Timon and Pumba's nature  will never even serve as an inspiration to the Lion King Canonicity. Honestly guys like Speedy the sSnail would make awesome stuff in a canon Liong King sequel.

I totally agree with what you said. I also loved how they expanded on Timon and Pumbaa characters in the series as well as the other movie characters and I really don't view the portrayal of the those characters as parodies of themselves either. They still had the same personalities as they did in the movie.

In my POV, the series wasn't just meant to be funny, but it also had some really cute moments, especially when it showed how much of a true friendship Timon and Pumbaa have.

I was hoping Disney would make a complete series DVD of this show like they did for the earlier Disney Afternoon shows, because it really deserved it. Same for the Aladdin TV series.
