Thanks, I've been watching your pencils for awhile as well. Your Ghost Rider last week rocked. The chains were hypnotic, and it was a very creative touch to knock off the other skullheads.

To be honest, I wasn't sure if I was actually going to do any pencil work this week. The tourny results have left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth as to the status of pencils within the group and I'm typically a bit lazy when it comes to inking. I've found that usually by time I'm done pencilling, I'd prefer not to see it again for awhile.

After seein' the matchup though, at least it would likely be on a level ground. This should be fun, finally an Anime series I've actually seen. Even if has been eight to ten years. Time to dig out the DVDs.

Yeah I know what you mean. But I'll get hafe way done with pencil and I'm sick if it, then I jump to inks. Then I get sick of it again when it's almost done. But normally I go for heavy inks so it takes even more time.

I'm not surpized it's a character I don't know anything about. It's Anime and I only have gotten into a few of them. It just makes it harder to find a good concept not knowing what she can do. So far I have the simplist line art, and I go to do the detail...wait what detail? It's going to be tough showing off my strenght on this one, so I'm going to have to get creative. Should still be a good fight, I just wish I had more of a darkness like character to face off against you.

Can't wait to see what you pull off.

No drink and draw tonight, they're putting it off til next week. Nothing new, they usually postpone things around holidays and dragon-con. The Mellow Mushroom they do it at is in Decatur, just down from the square.

May do that. Sorry to hear you're leaving BA, but figured I'd at least try to keep up with your work. You've got some talent. I won't say anything about the judging, I don't envy their positions. I do understand the frustrations though. I never said congrats for getting to the top of the mountain, at least ya got to look down at the rest of us.

That's a cool premise, actually. The girlfriend has me pinned down for the later hours tonight, but I should be able to do the first couple hours. I'll have to make sure and get my set up together before then. As for the art, I tend to find that going out on a limb cures me of art funk better than repetition. Of course, my job tends to throw curve balls artistically that keeps anything from being too stale. After doing some of the more dry stuff, it's nice to break loose with superheroes or fantasy type stuff.

Yeah, I'll have to actually set up my scanner for a change. I don't have the speed digitally to do this kind of stuff and be proud of the results.

Well, I made it for about an hour, but didn't post anything. All the scanning, uploading and whatnot was a bit frustrating, so I didn't do it. It was a great premise with incredible execution, major props, I just couldn't stay the whole time.

Looks like it's created a bit of controversy. Myself, I find the character a bit uninspiring but I'll figure out something to make it interesting to me.

Wow. I just read the comments under the battle. There was some controversy. I'm ok with it, but it's strange since I drew the character a couple weeks ago for a jam session that Selkirk let me know about. Planning on something different this time.

I do think that 2 original characters in the last four months is a stretch.

I think the Jets game will be close with a late turnover deciding the game.

Given how the weather is supposed to turn out, I'm in doubt that the drink and draw will happen. With any luck, maybe I won't have to go to work tomorrow either. Hopefully, final critique then it's just on to beta and stress testing.

Good luck against Greg. I'm looking forward to seeing the results. I was kinda surprised to see you in this one, you were talking about wanting to take a break during a video game challenge last week. I was a big fan of the game Darkstalkers, mostly because of the character designs used in the game, so I'm kinda psyched about this one.

I thought about taken it off, but I felt like I was on a pretty good art roll in general. (Last week, six cartoons and the tribute piece for Badassery studios.)

Anyway, Greg has drawn these characters before in his gallery. I've heard of them, seen the cartoon once I think, but never played the game.

I've got an idea for the piece, but it's complex, so it will either be a hot mess (and you'll never see it posted) or....

I couldn't make it up there the other day either, I got a cold for Christmas. They pushed up the final date for our project by a week, which has had us putting up alot of hours for the days we're working this week. We're even working on a day the rest of the company has off.

We'll see if I can find some time to at least pencil something tomorrow, but I've got family coming over for dinner. Still plannin' on hittin' the Drink and Draw next week if everything's ago there. Will be a nice break after the hectic few weeks.
