Latin's cool.

Pshh, it also sorta looks like French and it also sorta looks like English. Latin's the basis for a lot of languages after all.

Latin is mother of basically five(or six)languages.
Italian is helpful because many words are ablative(not gonna explain) of Latin words. For example the Italian word "Luce"(light in English) is equal to "Lux" ablative(which is Luce). It's complicate to describe,better searching on Google. DX

PS.I don't recommend you to study such a difficult language like Latin. French is more than Ok. :) (Smile)
