I literally haven't been on dA in three weeks. But oh well I didn't have any villains anyway, although making one would be neat. Let me catch up with the contest and make some comments on the other journals.

Right now, General, I am doin' great. I've been... frustrated (for lack of a better term) for a long while now trying to change the parts of my life that were really working against me and having no success. This past Thursday my 20-year old car (and my first car for the past 7 years) finally broke down to the point where it made more sense to buy anew than fix it. After a couple of days of research I wound up buying a brand new car with a ridiculously good warranty - I won't have to pay for so much as a carwash for ten years. That's been simultaneously super exciting and really worrying because I'm adding a car payment to my finances... But literally about an hour ago I just got a call from a company I interviewed with last week to tell me that I got the job - a lot more exciting, in my field work AND a 60% bump in pay.

Things are gonna be interesting for a few weeks, but its all starting to go the way I've wanted.

It's always good for me, working with other people, because it kinda forces me to keep up with things.
Also, any time I can get into AC it'll be a good summer. He hit 96 today and none of the locals seemed to think it was that bad.

Thanks mate, 25 years old now... Think I may just stay this age for a while. My grandma's 39 after all, and she's only been that way for 40-odd years.

DAWN OF THE FINAL WEEK, 8 DAYS REMAINING

I've been having a good deal of trouble trying to get my entry to look the way I want, but what it is looking like isn't really bad. Considering the deadline, I'm basically going to abandon the art style I was going for and do what it wants to do instead. Either way, the idea behind it is pretty awesome if I do say so myself... I think I'll be a contender this go 'round

That depends entirely on what constitutes 'Will', because from my limited RPG experience I'd think everything that needs to be willed to happen could be covered by 'might' or 'charm'.

Either way, reducing the number would be a good thing. You've got to reduce the perceived difficulty barrier for new entrants and that would certainly help.

Will will be intelligence and wisdom in one stat.
So it'll govern magic skills, knowledge skills, and most crafting skills.

Skill, Will - Red Mage (Offensive)
Skill, Charm - Support
Skill, Luck - Archer & Inventor
Will, Charm - White Mage (Healing)
Will, Luck - Black Mage (Defensive)
Charm, Luck - Spy

So that's 3 physical fighters, 3 mages, 2 negotiators, and two supports.

Yeah, I like this breakdown. Easy to understand and obvious effects.

I've got all my sketches done, and I literally just finished scanning them into the computer before opening this page. There's always some snags with digitizing my sketches but I intend to finish at least the whole fore and mid-ground today, if not the whole thing. I've been working on these sketches basically since the contest started, so I've had plenty of time to do and re-do every part of this picture at least twice. Now's the easy part, putting some clean lines and color on it.

You've got 8 entries in and another 9 (probably) coming - gonna be some stiff competition. Actually, I have something of a suggestion that's related to this... let me type it out and I'll send you a note sometime today, whenever I need to stop staring at lines
