Hello again

Decided to return to deviant, thought I'd drop by and say hi, how are things? Still Fencing? What are you doing uni wise?

Lots of questions, hee

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Ravenbell In reply to leannecoleman [2009-08-18 20:22:25 +0000 UTC]

Hello! My message box is enjoying feeling loved.

I'm good, thanks. Fencing's finished for the summer but, yes, I'm still going. Tho I've been completely outclassed by a girl who joined my school's sixthform, and has fenced for Englad and GB at various different times...
I'm going to India in September. Or my plane tickets tell me I am, but really it's a conspiracy *twitch* After this year, I'm hopefully off to Northumbria to do Architecture. Assuming I don't get lost in Delhi, or die of swine flu.

How about you? I see you're doing art, d'you know where you want to go with that at all? I love your drawings, btw. And now want to buy a copy of the wide world magazine, sounds awesome. How's your summer been so far?

Bum, didn't beat you on questions. Good to hear from you again.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

leannecoleman In reply to Ravenbell [2009-08-18 20:43:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, art i am continuing with...i looked at Bournemouth Arts Uni and St Martins for foundation, but St Martins was just horrid so i didn't even apply. Starting Bournemouth on the 7th, eeek! Hopefully after that i'll do illustration or graphic design, no idea yet.

Crikey, Architecture eh? I've heard that's one of the longest courses you can do...don't know if my source is correct though. Also, India. Why are you going there? Holiday?

Finally, my summer has been really lovely. Went to St Ives...froze in the bitterly British sea, ate too many ice creams and was once again dissapointed by the tate. The usual

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Ravenbell In reply to leannecoleman [2009-08-18 21:22:20 +0000 UTC]

Illustration would be great. You can do crazy exciting stuff, like concept art for Lord of the Rings! It's nice that art has some (slightly) more concrete jobs now.

the actualy uni courses for architecture are normal, it's just that there are three parts you have to do to get accredited with RIBA. So part one is a BA, then you do a year in practice, then a masters (part 2) and then another year in practise, after which you can take your part 3 exam. So yes, it takes 7 years to become a proffesional architect, but it's more or less the same as most other snobby vocational degrees, like medicine. Just not so well paid, sadly.
I'm going to teach English for three months in India. Because I'm crazy. hehe

Sounds good. Haven't been to the tate for ages. you mean modern? last time I went they had the crack in the turbine hall still, which was rather fun. It was amusing watching how fascinated everyone was with this fake hole in the ground...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

leannecoleman In reply to Ravenbell [2009-08-18 21:36:53 +0000 UTC]

Tate Modern in St Ives, it's less impressive...probably because they don't have a massive hall in which they can destroy the floor. I saw that installation too though, went with college and helped a previous student who got into the royal college of art with his project. We had to stand across the crack and try to stop people from crossing it, something about supersitions i guess. Was...interesting, hee.

Also, wow about the teaching english thing. Have fun being constructive. Gawd, i waste my time so badly. I kind of did a contsructive thing yesterday, my friend gave me his tablet and i drew a picture with it for the first time...might put it up, don't know

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Ravenbell In reply to leannecoleman [2009-08-26 14:40:31 +0000 UTC]

Hehe! Sounds like a fun project. How did he record it, tho?

I might be destructive, you never know. I'll teach them all how to speak English with a posh South England accent and they'll get beaten up or something hehe.
Tablets are good fun, stick with it. I like the ones you already put up, you seem to have a pretty instinctive feel for digital painting. I reeeeaally need to do some art. Haven't done anything really since my art exam, and I've not done anything except school work for yonks.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

leannecoleman In reply to Ravenbell [2009-08-26 19:32:04 +0000 UTC]

I actually have no idea how how he recorded it, too busy asking people "do you really want to cross the crack? really?"

Ah, the power of a South England accent...it could indeed all come crumbling down =S

i haven't been doing much art either, should start a sketch book really...Bournemouth said we should, don't know how strict they are going to be about it though.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Ravenbell In reply to leannecoleman [2009-08-28 17:05:49 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, fair enough. Sounds like fun.

Mwahahahaha! is all I can say *rubs hands*

I've always found it really hard to 'keep' sketchbooks. Like keeping a diary; it's all very well thinking it would be nice to have one, but at the end of the day, if nothing particularly interesting has happened, it just doesn't work.

Heya! How are you? No, I didn't, I've been way too busy. Plus last year was really good, so I thought I'd end it on a high point ^^ Why d'you ask?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

bunnypins In reply to Ravenbell [2008-08-12 21:41:03 +0000 UTC]

I'm not too bad thanks
Busy? All good stuff I hope, I wanted to know what pony week was like and figured I'd ask whilst I was on DA. But yeh that's a good idea rather than keep going until your late 20s and wendy says "well girls I think you may just be getting too old for this"
Do you know of any good places for beginner hacks near Romsey? Cos the only place I've found that does them charges ยฃ28 per person per hour!
xxx

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Ravenbell In reply to bunnypins [2008-08-14 12:13:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, very busy. Mostly with school and UCAS stuff, at the mo. How about you?
Wendy would still be wearing her pink cowboy hat! As would Mary, for that matter.
No, I don't. Only that place in the New Forest, Arniss Farm (I think). I'll check with my mum, but I can't think of any others. Surely you're not a beginner any more? I wouldn't be surprised if that's cheap for hacks now. I haven't done any in ages, but riding in general seems so much more expensive. Hopefully that's just Wilton!
