Well lately all I read is articles online, but when I do read a book let's see (looks around room)
I read a lot about mythology. I believe it helps with the creative process, especially when you aim to build new worlds and cultures.
I also read books on writing, college books on essays and what not.
Epic poem books like "Sir Gawain and the Green knight"
A lot of books on philosophy laying around too.
