KYOO-ARR. YOU LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE.
Seriously . . . I got your submission form thingy, and it made my entire evening. You have NO idea how much I've missed you, girl!
Here's hoping you'll make a full comeback soon!

AAAAAAH I have been AWFUL on this site and I am SO SORRY! BUT I'VE MISSED YOU TOO!
I have most of the next seven days of of school since I don't have exams except for Monday, so I'll so what I can to get some stuff up here and reconnect! I suppose I should start: how've you been doing?

Lucky you! I have exams ALL next week. I wish I could only have them on Monday . . .
Anywho, I've been busy. This is the time of year when everything gets super crazy for me and I spend more of the day at school than I do at home. But the weekend is coming up, and I'm glad! And you?

(Sorry for the delayed reply; I'll try and get the next one to you faster! )
My school changes our classes every semester, and a week ago marked the start of the second semester shift. I'm a little bummed because now I have math (pre-calc, nonetheless!), but at least I have a spare and Art in the morning! Though nowadays my spare is spent finishing math homework... but otherwise I'm alright!
(BTW, Taz, I thought I'd let you know... In a rather shocking, confusing, and yet somehow coherent turn of events, I acquired a boyfriend! )

(Stop doing this to me, girl! )
Ah, I see. My school doesn't do that -- we're stuck with the same classes all year long, which has its good points and bad points. But since I've never had it any other way, I'm not gonna complain.
(You WHAAAAA~?! Tell me your secrets, o wise woman! *Is still perpetually single*)

(I'M SORRY! But at least I've gotten to this one rather quickly, huh?)
From what I hear, most high schools in Canada work this way, so I can't say I can complain either. I wouldn't mind it if we could go back to the elementary school system of Same Schedule All Year, but meh. :/
(I met the guy last year - everyone at school knew his name, and I had the BIGGEST friend-crush on him but didn't want to bother him because he seemed too cool for me. Turns out he wanted to get to know me, too, and we were friends six months later. And then almost three months ago, he asked me out. So short story, if I had any secrets to tell, I'd tell you; I'm as mystified by this development as you are! )

(Yes, yes you have -- well done. )
I kinda like the Same Schedule All Year system, probably because I've never known it any other way. It seems to have worked all right for me thus far.
(Ah -- well, congratulations! I have plenty of guy-friends, but no interest in dating any of them, so meh. Good job anyway )

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-02-10 19:55:53 +0000 UTC]
I dunno if I'd be able to stand a system like that... My binders for all four of my classes last semester were almost full by the time I was done; I'm almost scared to know how heavy eight subjects would have been!
(I still have plenty of guy-friends, and my boyfriend still very much counts as one in my mind. I just don't feel like cuddling up to the rest of them as much. )
š: 0 ā©: 1
FantasiaKitty In reply to QuaxoRascal [2013-02-11 01:17:05 +0000 UTC]
You only have four classes? Ugh, lucky! I have six each day (used to be seven, but this year I somehow wound up with a study hall that took the place of one of them) and it can get pretty tiring. Only having four classes per semester sounds awesome by comparison.
(Yes, that I can understand . . . I think both myself and my guy-friends would be duly freaked out if I attempted to cuddle up to any of them. )

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-02-14 00:40:50 +0000 UTC]
The schedule allows for up to eleven classes a year (as was my case last year), but this year I couldn't get into a couple of the classes I wanted, leaving me with two study periods this year and one per semester! But seven classes a year sounds pretty neat, too...
(I end up cuddling with my female friends sometimes - just draping myself across their lap or leaning on their shoulder or whatnot. It's all in good fun, and sometimes I get cuddles like that in return from them! )

FantasiaKitty In reply to QuaxoRascal [2013-02-14 01:56:40 +0000 UTC]
Eleven classes in a year? Wowza, that sounds like a lot! I think I prefer my seven.
(My female friends and I do that all the time. It's one of the perks of being female, in my opinion . . . guys just don't understand that stuff. )

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-02-14 02:38:05 +0000 UTC]
Yup! Four classes per semester, and then two classes that switch between each other all year round. Hang on, that doesn't add up... I'm in pre-calc this semester, I shouldn't be doing this!
(Oh, for sure! And you can get excited about finding old nail polishes and painting your nails purple with pink heart-shapes shinies like I just did! )

Don't worry about it. I'm in calculus, and a few weeks ago I had to use a calculator to figure out 2+0.5. It's kind of an accepted fact that being in higher math cancels out your ability to do simple math.
(Nice, very nice. And you can act completely stupid and/or immature around each other and have a great time doing so!)

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-02-15 23:40:28 +0000 UTC]
And evidently, these last few weeks have nullified my ability to solve an equation that doesn't contain or a variable, or at the very least it's hindered such skill. XP
(The guys I hand around with do that, too, though other groups of guys try to do the same thing and someone ends up in a headlock. :/ Most of the time my group plays Ninja and it dissolves into a tickle war. Which is extremely unfair since my boyfriend isn't ticklish BUT I AM. )

Basic math: Ooh, numbers.
Pre-algebra: Whoa, a letter!
Algebra: So many letters . . .
Pre-calculus: Whoa, Greek letters!
Calculus: HOLY CRAP, A NUMBER! O_O
(My guy-friends are a bunch of derps, but I love them for it. And I love playing Ninja!)

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-02-18 02:02:50 +0000 UTC]
Oh, no, Greek letters?! Well, at least I know how to write them, but I just got comfortable with using them in chemistry, now I need them for PRE-CALC?
(Everyone in my lunch group is a derp, but we're all accepting of this fact and we bond over it. The last time we played Ninja I was too sick to do much of anything but watch, but it's always entertaining to see how the guys knock everyone else out of the game. )

FantasiaKitty In reply to QuaxoRascal [2013-02-18 02:41:00 +0000 UTC]
Oh . . . guess you haven't gotten there yet. Sorry. But yeah, those letters aren't gonna go away any time soon. (As a side note, be glad you're not in AP Physics . . . every other variable you see is a Greek letter. I'm surprised I still know how to write in English. )
(Mutual derpyness is one of the best things to bond over. It's been a long time since I last played Ninja, come to think of it . . . maybe I should think about fixing that. )

Apparently, though, my disliking of math was inhertited. Neither of my parents like it, despite my dad being an engineer. (Imagine him, though, coming from a small town in BC to attend military college in Ontario, where grade 13 is a thing and his professor was a grade 13 teacher a tone point... )
(Oh, of course! A mutual liking for cartoons and weird movies works just as well for bonding fuel, though! All of my guy-friends cheat when we play Ninja, though, since most of our mutual female friends are extremely ticklish and/ or short, so they can tickle us or pick us up if they lose. -_-)

(. . . Wait, what? That is all )
(Ugh, that's me as well. Especially the shortness thing. I remember a time when I was taller than all of my guy-friends . . . and then they all hit their teenage growth spurts and I stayed put. I still resent this development, and they know I do. )

I've managed to make friends with at least three guys this year who are taller than me, two of whom are a grade below me. I'm still not used to having to go up onto my toes to hug them... :<

And see, the taller ones always give the bestest hugs, but I have to feel short in order to get them... And then there's one of my girl friends who's only about 5'2" and also gives great hugs.

My guy-friends aren't the huggy types. That's one thing I have to rely on my female friends for.

My lunch group is just a bunch of huggy dorks. "Get Down Mr. President" is such a popular game among us because it's an excuse to tackle-hug everyone!

I've never heard of that game, but it sounds fun if it involves tacklehugging! Tell me more

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-03-03 00:58:12 +0000 UTC]
"Get Down, Mr President"? Heh, that one was brought up by the guys. Basically, someone in the group (of three or more, preferably) puts their fingers to their ear, as though listening to a Bluetooth. When the others see this, they all do the same, until one person is left without their finger to their ear. Everyone else shouts "GET DOWN, MR PRESIDENT" and tackles that person. In my group it ends in hugs, in others it can be ended with a football tackle.

That sounds really stupidly fun. I may have to introduce it to my friends in the near future. Thanks for making me aware of this game's existence!

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-03-03 01:13:29 +0000 UTC]
Hardly a problem! It's really fun, once everyone knows the game, to start playing it randomly and wait for people to catch on. And you'll have to expect more than one round at a time once it's been started.

QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-03-08 01:50:23 +0000 UTC]
You want silly and simple, take a look at my group of friends. We even wear cosplays to school on Fridays! (Nothing super elaborate, but enough that we get recognized as the intended character by those who know the series.)

FantasiaKitty In reply to QuaxoRascal [2013-03-09 13:27:08 +0000 UTC]
Whaaaaat? I wish my friends did that! (More to the point, I guess, I wish my school would let us do that . . .)
š: 0 ā©: 1
QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-03-09 17:00:40 +0000 UTC]
I think the fact that the cosplay is generally rather subtle lets us get away with it. My writer guy-friend dressing up like one of his characters and slapping a electrical tape H on his forehead might've pushed it, but the whole school is used to his weird antics. Most of the time, if our cosplays have elaborate accessories, we bring them out at lunch, so the school generally doesn't get mad at us.

FantasiaKitty In reply to QuaxoRascal [2013-03-09 17:03:55 +0000 UTC]
Ah, I see -- can you define 'rather subtle'? I may have to try this as well sometime.
š: 0 ā©: 1
QuaxoRascal In reply to FantasiaKitty [2013-04-28 00:11:58 +0000 UTC]
"Rather subtle" entails having the very basicest of the cosplay down. My friend, for example, cosplayed the Scout from tf2 several Fridays (this idgit: [link] ): he came with a red T-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, brown slacks (also rolled up), baseball socks, his regular shoes, and a belt. He wore a black baseball cap and an Xbox headset at lunch, and the bag, weapon, and dogtags were omitted. For this, it helps to cosplay a character with a rather basic outfit: no armour or complicated hairstyles.
Did that help?
