Hi Lance! Yeah I keep drifting back to DA and missing when I had time to focus on writing, but it's great to see everyone who I follow keeping on working I'm just about halfway through my Masters now, but working in retail (cry) to support myself so all my time is pretty much taken up. How are you? And you are always welcome I love your work!

Working in retail, a necessary evil for those outside the financial one percent. sigh


My old laptop broke at the screen hinges and pulled the bezel partially off leaving broken bits visible inside. I couldn't continue opening the lid without doing more damage, so I replaced the computer yesterday. Had to get one with Windows 10. What a pain. And a downgrade cos I couldn't afford that level anymore. The new one [Dell] is surprisingly good for 300 dollars including sales tax.

Exactly! A soul-destroying one too, most probably why I lack the energy to be more creative in my spare time

Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that! A similar thing happened to me last year (luckily I'd backed up all my files or my dissertation would have been gone!) when the left hinge snapped. That sounds like a decent price though, I remember mine costing me about £400 which just about killed my summer.

Most stuff was backed up, but not the most recent couple of months or so in some cases. I don't back up everything recent at the same time.

I had a few hundred gigabytes backed up so I didn't lose a lot. Except for a bunch of individual pics, not a mass of data.
