It goes good. I agree, I don't do fanart either, but I couldn't help myself with that one, and I'm really wanting to do some Two-Face fanart now... You got a job now don't you? (Where you at?)

Well... in the process of FINDING out if I got on with a place (won't mention till I get more on it) Apparently with the Recession and all that, job finding has been kinda difficult for peoples it would seem. My brother said I had a pretty good chance with getting on out at Epic or midway (since he worked with people that now work at those places) but... alas, I gotta get some money first before I feel I can venture outside the Dallas Border, check out my Alumni Thread on the forum though, I have a link of a very useful job searching site that will greatly help people looking to get into the gaming scene.

Yeah, I'm really hesitant to start throwing myself out there, because of the lack of opportunities. But I know some guys who used to work at Midway/(still do, maybe) So I don't know, I was going to wait to polish my portfolio a bit before I really started looking.

I suggest man, start looking into places around, see if you can simply come in and talk to some of the leads or the art director or something. I did it for Speech class back two years ago, and I find I just wish I had taken the dude up on his offer to contact some people at ReelFX so I could go talk to them there. The name of the game, man, is getting out there and networking. The more people you know, and that know you, the greater the chance employment. Course, that doesn't always work, you DO need a good portfolio also, but networking will only aid you in your quest to get into the industry, not hinder it.

For Sure. I guess I will take the advice and get off my ass. I appreciate it man. Good luck in your searching.

It just now dawned on me that said "angry critter in a bucket" actually is a cactus in a pot.
The gleam in his eyes suggests that he wishes to give me a taste of his malicious prickles of general overall discomfort. Gasp!

PunkBoyLeech In reply to QuietCritic [2008-02-16 19:38:24 +0000 UTC]
hahaha yes.. Indeed he is a "Cactus in a Pot"... but said Pot is very bucketish, and the ol' grumpy Cactus lacks his pricklys and lines...
but he really is a sweet fellow.. just doesn't like litterers (though... he might mix you up int he category of Literurs)... and I think most anyone wouldn't like to be aroused from their slumber via a live match tossed carelessly down their back.
so yes, be wary of Cactus's for a while... especially ones in bucket like pots
