Yeah but I'm afraid that people on my street won't know who i'm cosplaying as, let alone my house.Plus I need to buy lots of stuff and I don't know who to cosplay as.I was thinking about cosplaying as Gamzee Makara from Homestuck but people don't know who he is and it'll be awkward.

You should do it! Most people on my street don't even know what a Dalek is but they still love seeing it rolling around. Gamzee looks pretty spooky so it doesn't matter if people don't recognise it. You could go to a comic con first to build your confidence like the one in London coming up, lots of people will know who you are

I've never been to any cosplay event before..I want to go but my parents don't know what cosplaying is and plus they don't want to travel for an event like that when they don't know more than half of the characters people are cosplaying as :/ I guess it's cosplaying on my street instead then

Just convince your parents to take you to one as they may enjoy it. I asked my mum to take me to comic con and she really didn't want to but after she said it was actually pretty fun and wouldn't mind going again. She said it was nice to see how much effort people put in they're costumes and how friendly everyone was.
