I'm so sorry about your rattie may he rest in peace...
In my experience I've had my share of losses and I know it's really hard...how's your other baby taking it? My advice for you is to play a lot with him and pay lots of attention to him and also if you want/can I advice you to get another rattie, you know, they're pack oriented animals and they always need companionship, moreover if they lived together most of their lives and I'm sure this will deffo cheer him up...when 3 of mine passed away before in a terrible way all together, the one that was left was really really sad and stopped eating, he barely moved..it was terrible, I was really scared and worried he may die too so I got two more ratties to make him company and it did cheer him up a LOT, he did change, was never the same but got a lot better than before...I really wish you and your baby the best

Rats are pack animals. That means that if you're going to keep them as pets, you need to have AT LEAST two.
A human being can never EVER replace an animal, no matter how much attention and treats you're giving your pet.
Animals, just as humans, get depressed when they're not social enough with fellow mammals, think about that.
A rat is not supposed to eat chocolate and other sugar-filled crap.
It can however eat youghurt, berries, fruit, nuts, vegetables and sometimes a tiny piece of fresh, unsalted meat.
Giving rats sugar is actually condsidered as abuse due to ignorance.

I'm sorry about that sounds bad but look you're doing it right, pet him a lot and give him lots of love and care, that's what he needs right now, if you can ever get another one any time soon it'd be better, if you can't then I suggest you to give him lots of treats and even if he doesn't want to come out take him out and let him lie by your side while you watch t.v. or stuff like that, he will be able to relax and won't be lonely at the same time, it's kind of a hard sitch... try giving him some m&m's or chocolate chips, it won't really harm and will help him level up a bit some sugar and serotonine in his blood to make him feel a little happier, if you need any more rattie tips you can always drop me a line I'll be happy to help you.

Thanks so much for the tips he usually loves to cuddle and eat snacks so I lwill try to get him out. I usually try to sit by the cage and give him treats and pet him for an hour or so. The chocolate is a great idea

I totally want to go lime green shades eventually, but my hair has too much pink on its base even after everything fades, and I refuse to bleach or decolour.

Oh I totally understand. I loved the green, I've always wanted to do it but my parents wouldn't let me. I wish I could do all of it green >< It is such a great hair color. But I have to keep my hair a normal color till I can find a job.
