i actually have no clue. I got it for free from one of my mom's co-workers. all i know is that it's extremely outdated and huge. it's a wacom tablet but i don't think that would help

Copic markers. I get em from Jerry's Artarama. They might be in other art stores though.

question, how do you get your traditional work to appear so clear? or is it my scanner sucks?

I usually open it up in Photoshop to clean away any weird marks and use the burn tool to darken the light areas.
But if they're blurry, it might be that its not flat on the scanner. For ex. if its still in the sketchbook, the height of the spiral lifts the page too far from the scanner's screen and usually blurs or shadows the image.
If that's not the problem, then it might be your scanner... D:
