I see your on Artstation. I have a few questions about that site. I noticed its a lot more professional and feels like the community is a lot more professional. I tried to ask questions to the site questionnaire box and never got a response back. While I'm not a professional like you are, could someone who is looking for feedback and overall learning use this site, or is it discouraged? On here DA, seems to mostly just be fandoms, and lewd crowds. Getting worse by the year. Where its more of a competition on vanity views pandering to the lowest common denominator. While I like to cartoon. I want to go after realism, painterly styles, and move more towards old school fantasy and comic styled art. I want to be among more serious artists who, like me are trying to move in their work and are more interested in developing a portfolio or advancing their skills. While on DA I have a few friends I work with. I did notice Artstation had forums for feedback and art courses.Β

Hi there, I would certainly say that its worth registering on Artstation, it is a very different community to say what DA is, and it can seem a little overwhelming on Artstation because of the volume of industry level people displaying their portfolios. But don't be discouraged. Its not really a place for grabbing likes etc but it is a good platform to keep a portfolio on. I would also recommend a group called Art Corner, over on Discard. On that group, they have sub chat groups for critique on finished work, sketches and work in progress. They also run weekly challenges covering a range of subjects where members update their challenge and share feedback and advice on their work. They also have a resources folder for sharing tutorial tools.Β
DA is a strange one at the moment, its been good for me over the years and the support and encouragement of other DA users has helped me in the past, but there is a lot of stuff on here that personally I wonder why its here or just actively avoid it all together.Β Β

I found that a lot of people here in the U.S. donβt know much about their own country,
much less anyone else's.Β

I post prayer updates about different countries. Part of the reason is to raise awareness
about what's going on in the rest of the world. Recently Iβve started my own private initiative; if I notice someone on DAΒ is from another country, if I've done their country I let them know. Itβs my way of letting them know that others are thinking about their home.
