Hello - always so good to hear from you. Are you doing anything for ArtPrize this year? I love your Night Circus piece - glad you got to read it, it's a favorite.

Hi! Great to hear from you! How is your summer going? I keep checking your dA page, hoping for new paper works. Did that commission work out okay? How about your hot drinks series? I've been busy in the garden, wondering how your mom's is doing. Any trips to A2 in your future? Thanks for the comments and the fave. So glad to hear from you.

Summer is going well! I'm trying my hand at gardening this year and it's been lovely! I dug up a million wild onions from the front yard and put in daisies, sunflowers, gladiolas, and lilies. The hot drinks series is going well, too. I'll be posting those images here soon, but you can check out what's finished over here: www.artprize.org/becky-pobst/2…
The commission is working out fine! I've finished the spring one (pictures coming soon), and the summer one is well underway.
Hope everything is going well for you! We'll have to meet up again soon!

Stumbled upon your Harry potter patronus while surfing the net, and I have to say you did a lovely job! I think its interesting how your fave houses are Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, when my faves are Slytherin and Ravenclaw. xD

Thanks! If I'd been sorted when I was 11, I would have been put in Ravenclaw for sure, but as an adult, that's my least favorite. I think I've just meet too many annoying fans that describe themselves as Ravenclaw so that everyone knows how "smart" they are, without actually having to proove that they're smart.

I can see what you mean. But I'm rather interested in Ravenclaw because of Luna Lovegood. I understand that not all Ravenclaws are like her, but the way she thinks, I love it. Shes so clever, with that air of- well- airiness. xD

Yes! A bunch of fans have given it a bad name is all, but Luna is what Ravenclaw is all about!

Thank you so much! I love Hufflepuff. I'd be happy either there or in Gryffindor--my two favorite houses.

Thank you! I started the Patronus series as a way to practice using my new Wacom tablet. I highly recommend doing "series" of things to practice new styles or techniques! It really helps work out the kinks.

Wacom, my brother's girlfriend has one of those she draws, and highly recommends them...do they do hand held tablets? I prefer the hand held ones and really need a new one. Oh ok cool, I shall try that...did it help you? Thanks I shall give that a go, they are all very good (I esp love that bear protronus, so detailed)

They do have hand held versions of Wacom--it's called a Cintiq. The original Cintiq is very expensive, but they've come out with companion tablets that seem more affordable.
Drawing in series was definitely helpful! I was pretty comfortable with the Wacom by the time I finished.

Cool, do you know of any that are more affordable, that you could recommend? oh great, so what Wacom do you have/use? I have yet to find a tablet that I'm really comfy with...prefer hand held/portable (sort of on the go) I will try that series thing you suggested - already have a few ideas in mind.
Thanks Again

My pleasure! I use an Intuos 4 (I think it's a 4--I recently upgraded after my 2 bit the dust). Wacom tends to be the industry standard, so I'm not aware of any other options, though there must be several.
I would caution that with tablets you get what you pay for--I got nearly 8 years of solid use out of my 2 before my cat spilled water all over it. But technology may have caught up by now with effective and affordable options. Be sure to shop around!

I can't wait to see them! Thank you so much for faving several of my pieces! It's so nice to see other artists using paper in such a successful way. Have you seen Jane Cloutier's paper art? cloutierj.deviantart.com/ I think you will enjoy her work as well.
