Happy birthday!

There is a Scottish author I wanted to recommend to you concerning your interest in Late Roman and Dark Ages history. His name is Alistair Moffat, and he writes some fun and informative histories on Scotland, the Celtic Fringe at large, and Northern England. I think his style is simple enough for an European to follow, even if you need to keep checking his maps for location names. There might be Italian translations, but I don't know for certain.

Okay sorry it says they are. I like them especially the Peter Connolly ones of the Romano British and British Cav Officer 306.

Mandi, collega!
Alla fine ce l'ho fatta, ecco l'armatura di Niederstotzingen in cuoio!! enrico-ors-91.deviantart.com/a…
E' stata un'impresa davvero! Ma ne Γ¨ valsa la pena, credo!
Che te ne pare?

Thank you for the lovely llama! It looks quite nice. You have a lot of excellent historical drawings which both excite me and fill me with foreboding, in this day of the declining Republic. Β  I look forward to seeing your future works as well. Β

Thanks for your devotion to late Antiquity and so-called "Dark Ages" military art. Here in the English-speaking world we get too focused on the British Isles and the French sphere of influence, until it's time for the Crusades!

Diocle, how much did you enjoy Julian, Savior of Rome? I am asking because its near its end and it was a good ride while it was moving!

Too bad its ending, eh?

Paullian In reply to Knightofhonnor [2013-05-29 18:15:03 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! I love the story, Knon has done an epic work, one day I'll restert again the reading, it's like a wonderful adventure....it's so sad it's close to the end....

....but I hope Knon will start something new....I think that now he cannot live without writing,...and this is very good for us poor readers!

Knightofhonnor In reply to Paullian [2013-05-30 14:51:46 +0000 UTC]

He probably will, I mean you have to follow up with another epic, even Homer did it, so I'm pretty hopeful that he will!

I love your drawings, Carlo. They reminded me of my childhood, I was totally in love with knights, warriors, castles, and all things Medieval. By the way, my favorite book was "Storie dell'anno Mille" by Tonino Guerra and Luigi Malerba. I think I read it a thousand times over)
