I fell in love with pastel and love the look and feel it! I use my fingers as my "brush". I leave texture where I need it and blend with my fingers where I want a smooth look.

Thank you for your encouragement and kind works. I was admiring your coiled baskets. I am planning on trying coiled baskets with one of my Middle School art class. All we have is some cord and yarn. This will be interesting!! Any tips?

It should be fun as well. As far as tips go, the longer the strands that are being coiled are, the easier it is to stitch, but also the harder it is to keep them untangled. The length that I prefer is around 18inches, but anything from 3inches to 6ft work. Make sure they stitch with tight stitches, but not tight enough to bunch up the yarn in between the stitches. Also the maximum distance between stitches that I've found will make a stable basket is 3/4inch.
I think that's about it for tips, the rest is explained in the link where I got the info.
