# About me
Name: HeatherDOB: June 29
Astrological sign: Cancer
Chinese Astrology: Water Dog
Home base: Pennsylvania
Where I wish my home base was: Somewhere warmer. Seriously...We have four seasons here: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction. Right now, it's August and barely 60 degrees here.
Why ParisWriter? Well... Obviously, I'm a writer. So that's where that part comes from. Paris is after the French capitol, where I spent two days on a school trip when I was 15. I absolutely fell in love with the city. Someday, I hope I can go back on my own terms so I can really experience it without being rushed around.
What is Creative ADD? Creative ADD is a term coined by myself to describe the affliction that some writers have where your brain is just so over-run by ideas that you keep jumping around from one to the next and eventually end up with a dozen or so unfinished stories that you swear you will finish someday... though you can't exactly say if 'someday' will be in six months or six years. What's worse, you still keep coming up with more ideas, no matter how hard you try to stop.
How long have you been writing? Since I was seven. We had to write a story in our computer class in elementary school, and since it was around Halloween I wrote one about a house that basically killed everyone who went into it. (Whoever went inside was never seen again.) What can I say? I guess I've always had a leaning toward the darker things...
How long have you been writing fanfiction? I didn't even know what fanfiction was until my family first got the internet when I was 14. I wrote my first story - a really bad Highlander fic which, thankfully, no longer exists - when I was 15. I didn't really write much more fanfiction after that until I was 23, when I first fell very ill with kidney disease and spent a lot of time in bed with my laptop. So... I've been writing fanfiction for over a decade, now.

Heh... I haven't written much in a while, though, due to health complications. Trying to finish the next couple of chapters right now, but my brain won't get into the right mode.
And a quick warning: That one is looking to shape up to be around 60 chapters and 1,000,000+ words (and take another two years to finish) at the rate I'm going... and it's the first part of five I have planned. I'm hoping to finish them all before I die, lol.

Well, the title suggested it couldn't be a particularly short story Β I am slow in reading in English so I guess it's perfect
Health problems? I'm so sorry Β I'm afraid to ask but I hope it's nothing too serious

I suffered from sudden dual kidney failure when I was 23. Got a transplant two and a half years ago, but I'm still having various issues. Recently found out the doctor I was seeing had me over-medicated on one of my anti-rejection meds and so it's been putting my new kidney at risk for better than a year. I've also been dealing with secondary parathyroid problems brought on by the five years I spent on dialysis waiting for my transplant. They should have cleared up by now, but still haven't so I am constantly feeling tired, I run out of energy fast, my hair has dramatically thinned, and I gained just over 50 pounds. (Though I have now lost about 20 of it but it's a slow loss as my hormone levels are gradually stabilizing.) So right now it's just a bunch of little stuff whereas before it was one BIG thing I had to deal with. I currently have six different doctors I see somewhat regularly... it's a real pain in the ass, but you do what you have to.

oh my god I have no words It's a terrible situation but I see a lot of strenght in you and the most important thing is that you're keeping your enthusiasm for your hobbies Β Writing is wonderful, it's like creating your own parallel universe in which to find shelter and solace

I accepted pretty quick that getting upset about getting sick wasn't going to make me any better. Doing what I was told by my doctors was the best route, so I sucked it up and did what I had to do... including dialysis treatments three days a week despite being deathly afraid of needles. And for a long time, people never actually believed I was sick because staying positive helped keep me from getting sicker. Even that couldn't help eventually, though, and by the time I got my transplant I was actually looking like I was seriously ill. My mother actually cried when she saw me after my surgery because she said I looked better than I had in months already.
And this is why I'm a big supporter of organ donation and kidney disease awareness (one out of four people who have it have no idea they have it until it's too late and I was that one in four... because they don't screen for it regularly like they do diabetes and high cholesterol).

I'm deathly afraid of needles too Β but luckily I have no health problems so I can avoid doctors and hospitals
I wish you a quick recover and send you a big tight hug
Keep up writing!
