Emma, hi Sorry we haven't chatted in a bit. I wanted to let you know that I'm going to Glasgow for uni! If you want to meet up after exams in Toronto, that would be lovely (and probs my last chance to do that before leaving).
A cordial hug,

OH MY GOODNESS
Congratulations!!! That's amazing, what are you majoring in?
I would love to see you and I'm sorry for not replying earlier.
Are you still able to come to Toronto or are you already busy
with preparations for Glasgow??
I would imagine you are but if you can spare some time it would be
amazing to meet you for real and send you off to your adventures
with a cordial hug of my own
Ta ta (hopefully just for now!)

Final year for me! That means I'm not taking art or Spanish or IT, which sucks, but I'm starting to apply to universities, an experience which holds a certain amount of amusement in its novelty.
Everybody's sick at school. My favourite teacher calls it the "WeLcOmE bAcK vIrUs" and it's just the most horrible common cold I've seen. Egads. We should all stay home and recover.
We spent the summer road-tripping through the Maritime provinces... there are a lot of stories to tell, but I guess I'll tell them through the pictures, whenever I upload them. It. Was. Gorgeous.
I haven't been to Toronto all summer, which probs sets a record for me. I'll have to visit before the snow starts.
Finally, it's really nice to hear from you again. Talk soon,
-J

Serious?! Fuck, man...I wish I could say the same.
Why wouldn't you take art or Spanish or IT? What universities
are you thinking of going to? Dude, I don't even know what
you want to major in!
I know...I think I've caught the bug. But maybe it's just the
overbearing nature of school that's making me sick. We should
just have three day weeks and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
Really? That sounds exquisite! I've never really been anywhere in Canada
except Ontario and Quebec...I'd love to go to Newfoundland. I'm looking
forward to those pictures!
The highlight of my summer was probably going to New York City. Central
Park was amazing and I have come to dub it as my favourite place! Have you
ever been?
Yes! Come to Toronto! We should chill and talk about
everything My sister moved to London recently
so I've been going there quite a lot...she says it's been chilly.
Indeedy do! Thanks for starting up the convo again!
Ta ta for now!

One day, we'll go for lavender ice cream. It might take a while before we're on the same continent again though.
Wishing the best for you, author-friend. Do email me every few years, please.
All my love,

I'm probably the worst person ever because I haven't replied back
(or gone on deviantart) in almost two months!
Wowza I am horrible.
But, to try and get back to it...
HOLY MOLY YOU SPEAK A LOT OF LANGUAGES!!!
I am sorry to say that I do not know what Farsi is...care to explain?
And YEAH I went to Holland!
It was pretty fucking amazing if you ask me, but I wish I was still there.
I met a girl there who had a Turkish boyfriend so she was learning Turkish
and he was learning Dutch It was pretty cool to hear about, even if I couldn't
understand half of what she was saying...
My Dutch has improved IMMENSELY since I've gone to Holland.
Just listening to people speak the language is enough.
so on that note...
Hoe gat het met u?
I'm ok.
SCHOOL'S ALMOST OVER SO I'M HAPPY ABOUT THAT!
But what your school does is pretty fantastic...that whole wear pink against homophobia thing?
That's pretty rad, man.
My school is pretty accepting with that stuff, too, but it's high school so shit happens...
even if its completely intolerable.
You sound like a REALLY outgoing person.
Like if I saw German tourists at the Eaton Centre
I would probably just keep on walking!
I guess that's kind of why I like writing myself into stories...
new experiences, new people
and basically being a new person in general.
I really hope you reply to this
but I understand if you won't
given the fact that I haven't replied for what seems like a millennium!
Or maybe you're off on another adventure!
I hope you are.
Then maybe you can tell me about it later with your crazy awesome vocabulary.
Anyways...
Ta Ta for now! (hopefully)
Dag!

Well well, look who hath returned. Pfff, it's all good. My friends and I have a policy where we don't apologise for procrastination and late replies, and as I count you among my friends, you should probably adopt the policy too. It will save time later, I think.
The Languages Thing: Yeah. Lots of languages. I’m in love with words, so much so that I worry I’ll never fall for a human because I’ve read too much, ha. Farsi, aka Parsi, aka Persian is the language that is spoken and written in Iran and parts of Afghanistan. It is a very versatile language and is spoken in more dialects than there are accents to speak English with. I’m from the North, where Iran borders Azerbaijan (which in turn borders Turkey and Russia), so my Farsi should in theory be a bit thick, with all those slurred g/z sounds and up-lilting ends to sentences (not to mention all the Azeri Turkish that gets mixed into everyday speech), *but* I moved to Tehran (hurray capital cities) when I was still quite little, so I would say my Farsi is very accent-neutral and a bit city-slang-tainted besides.
Holland: I want to hear more about your trip (and the girl with the Turkish boyfriend, who was learning Turkish for him), but I get it if you’re tired of relating stories to other people already. Hoe ben ik? I’m great, thanks for asking. You can always practise your Dutch with me, so you don’t lose what you’ve gained from your trip! I’m lame. I’m excited over practising Dutch. Lame, llama, como te llama, ramalama bang bang, So You Think You Can Dutch, er... what?
!!!!SCHOOL'S ALMOST OVER!!!! Can we just party on this one thought for the next two months? I’m gonna say yes. Think summer, think free time, think Comic Conventions where half of Toronto is wearing wigs and toting swords.
<
So yeah, I responded. Take your time responding back. Read some of my newer journals and have a laugh at how sleep-deprived I’ve been these past weeks. We’ll talk after exams too,
-J

I seriously have a memory problem.
I thought I answered this but I suppose my brain just
LOVES tricking me into the badness of forgetmeland.
Ugh.
ANYWAYS...
Languages are fucking amazing (excuse my french HA)
but I have never heard of Farsi before talking to you.
I am now happy to say that I HAVE SUCCEEDED IN KNOWING
SUCH A THING EXISTS THANKS TO YOU.
But seriously, that's epic, you must have the BEST learning
capacity for languages...TEACH ME SOME.
Holland was brilliant so I shall retell ten of my favourite things:
1. I rode through the tulip fields to the North Sea
2. I went to a real bonafide pub and apparently got hit on by some guy
3. I went to a Beatles museum where I saw George's
first guitar EVER (apparently), Ringo's jacket that he wore when
crossing Abbey Road, Paul's Shea Stadium jacket, and John's
famous Beatle Boots as well as his collarless jacket and guitar.
4. I stood in the exact place that The Beatles had when they performed
in Hillegom, Holland back in 1964 (50 years ago!)
5. I visited with so many people that my family knew including my Oma's
school friend Rita and my Great Om Jo (uncle John) who is 92!
6. I bought another acoustic guitar in Haarlem and played it underneath
this great big tree in a park
7. I walked through Amsterdam late at night and sat outside the Anne Frank
House
8. I ate a shit-ton of french fries with mayonnaise and peanut sauce (yes it
tastes good)
9. I went to Keokenhof (this massive tulip garden) and got lost
10. I was who I wanted to be
NO NO
I swear I need to be more outgoing like YOU.
I am so dissatisfied with myself at the moment it is not the slightest bit funny...
in fact it's quite stressful and I barely know how to handle it nowadays.
I just wish we could go back in time to the 60's or 70's, you know?
I feel like everything was a lot more simpler there like you could barely
say much that would strike up such bitter controversy.
These days you can't say a word without anyone taking offense, so I guess
that's why I keep quiet so often. And when I want to speak up it always
seems as if the opportunity is taken away...
Gosh, I'm rambling. I'll hopefully talk to you soon because I have a lot of free
time on my hands now that
SCHOOL IS OVER!!!
...and I do not have a job :/
Dag!

Oh hey!
And no...I kind of forgot about it cause all this stuff is going on.
But how did your story go?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ThirteenthMonth In reply to PagesofLennon [2013-12-05 22:39:43 +0000 UTC]
I didn't finish (big surprise...not), but the plotline of the story did a one-eighty on me and I'm now stuck with three irrepressible musicians and Charlie, who I can't freaking stop drawing (it's becoming an obsession). I'll just keep writing for the rest of the year, I think, and submit it all next year *cheater, cheater*.
What's new, and how far did you get in your story before you forgot about it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PagesofLennon In reply to ThirteenthMonth [2013-12-06 00:31:01 +0000 UTC]
Well that's all right! I think the only way you can really write a story in a month
is if you have absolutely nothing else to focus on and you can pour all of your time into it...
which is extremely difficult. *sigh* I wish I could just live in a studio apartment and write all
day, that would make life so much easier.
New? Well recently everything has been quite shitty, but I suppose it can't get much worse...
whoops! I probably just jinxed myself, but anyways...I only wrote like a paragraph for the story.
I posted it on here under the title Jude, but it's not much of anything.
How about you? Anything new?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ThirteenthMonth In reply to PagesofLennon [2013-12-27 06:44:02 +0000 UTC]
One day you'll have the studio apartment, the time and the will to finish your story. One day I will have my loft, guitar and paints. Happier days await us, Em!
As for the shit. Well, it happens, you know. Tell me about it if you ever need to complain, as I happen to be the Therapist in my circle. I'll be here, although I don't respond too quickly.
I feel...optimistic. It's unusual, and maybe it's the hols talking, but I can go around without the planet's weight on me these days. It is good. Chemistry is still evil, but the rest of the world is good to me.
Art! Art is new. Art is always exciting and now there is a tube of unopened white paint, waiting to be opened. Is there ever anything so nice as the unopened paint tube? There's music.
Merry belated Christmas, by the way. And Happy New Year too, in case we're not on before it passes. May you get all that you desire and may your happiness be plentiful, your efforts prosperous and may the start of 2014 be, above all things, auspicious.
