# About me

My name is David. Don't call me Dave tho... =P My real art spree started when I was 13 and my sister-in-law introduced me to GIMP when I was grounded.

I played with it for a few hours and fell in love and downloaded it for myself. So I got PS7 on CD from my uncle (not even sure if it was legal...), and when I realized it was a POS, I downloaded CS4. Fell in love with it. Then DA held a contest of some sort and the prizes included a wacom intuos 4. so I dedicated myself to getting a tablet. So now that I have a tablet, I'm into digital painting, photomanipulations. I write on occasion if the fancy strikes me, and I enjoy other artisan crafts. I'd like to start making clothing for cosplays and stuff. I also garden. And grow orchids. yeah... I can name more species of orchid than you can shake a stick at. =P Not much else to say, really.

Hey wanted to say thanks so much for your comment in the forums (seems like it was an old one, but I found it today) regarding random stylus pressure changes in photoshop. I have been system restoring, -fresh installing and trying to figure it out all day - stumbled upon your old forum post, about the 'data recognition' setting... and walla it seems to be working! I can't believe it was something so simple. It makes sense cause I had changed the 'dual tracking' settings about a week or two ago and i guess i messed it up.

Just wanted to say 'life saver!' thank you very much.

No prob! You've got some really nice ceramic works and I love teapots. I'm making one myself at the moment. It's a slab-mold bowl attached to a flat top. It's being bisque-fired as we speak! ^^

I actually do most of my work in a garage with few tools and then I take mine to a local kiln guy and he'll fire it for me. It's expensive, though...

I made everything posted on dA at my college, Southwestern University. Since I've graduated, I don't have access to the studio (formally...) anymore. I'm also living in a small apartment right now and I've started graduate school. In time I'll return to the art, but for the moment I've had to shelve my new favorite hobby :( (Sad)

Thanks for your kind words, btw. Ceramics tend not to get super pageviews, but definitely it takes time and skill to do it right.

I really think you should be more worried about becoming a better artist than pageviews, to be honest. I'm on DA to get help from other artists, chronicle my progress, and make friends. I don't ever pay attention to pageviews and I don't think anybody should. Maybe get a little message in your inbox when you've reached xxx,000 so you can say "Wow. I must be doing something right!" Good luck at being an artist and everything you do in life.
I did look at your gallery, by the way. ;) (Wink) You've got potential if that's all done with a mouse.
