I use no airsoft in the weapons, if i had do it, I would do ist with nearly the same steel bodies like the one I do as dummy display weapons....complete selfdone bodies in steel.
But go to obscurus crusade board(its asepcial warhammer prop and costume building board) and ask there, they converting nerf and airsoft weapons sometimes...maybe that tehy could help you with that.
