I am Christian, but the Philippines is divided into a lot of religions, like Muslim. 10% Christian/Catholic (Are they different), 50% Muslim and 40% religions that don't believe that Jesus was born on Dec 25

hah. Interesting. But hey ... what do have whole east with Dec 25. I mean do you celebrate 25 Dec. as Christmass day or how? I was always confused by this because here, we celebrate Christmass on 24 as day when was jesus born o.O ... 25.December doesn't mean nothing special for us.

Sorry for the late reply, I did not have the chance to go to DA since school is in the way.
You see, we believe that Jesus Christ was born on Dec. 25, and we celebrate it as Christmas in honor of his birth by giving money and gifts to children and like.Β Dec. 24 is Christmas Eve for us, where we celebrate the coming of Christ.Β
Some religions don't believe that Jesus was born on Dec 25, because there is no proof at all, which, they have a point.

Izanagi and Izanami (I guess) were the first person in Japan, they made all the islands of Japan. (I can't name them all.)Β Izanami died when giving birth to Kagu-tsuchi, because he was made out of flames. (You know how she died) In anger Izanagi, cut the boy into eight parts, and threw it to the islands. And the volcanoes of Japan were created.Β
Well, Izanagi visited Izanami to the Yomo-no-kuni, the underworld of Shintoism. Izanagi wanted to bring her back but was too late since she ate rice, I guess.Β Izanami asked if Izanagi wants to join her instead, but he refused, and escaped. Izanami was angry, she said she will kill thousands of his people and Izanagi said, he will then born five thousand in return.
When he returned, he cleansed himself, and the three gods where born.Β From his left eye, the sun goddess, Amaterasu was created, from the right eye, Tsukoyomi, the moon god was created, and the nose, the god of the ocean, Susano, was born.

No they won't. That is what Japan is trying to avoid. We invaded by the Americans a long time ago and it did a huge impact to us. They thought us many things and gave us many things.
Usually, we have so many superstitions, and we use po and opo whenever we talk to elderly to show respect.
