One of my best friend, leaving in the States, but originally from Romania visited me this summer. She said I must be very happy because there are so many authors translated in romanian, from all the world basically. And indeed, I am. Anyhow I love Marques, equally Hesse, and Thomas Mann, and Ro authors. What about you?

That's great to hear. I'm lucky; I can read in 3 languages which makes everything easier. I only know 2 authors of your list; Hesse and Thomas Mann both German.
I really like how Eça writes (he's a Portuguese author), Stieg Larsson got my heart with the breathtaking Millennium Trilogy, Poe and his amazing and creative mind, and when I read 'The Silence of the Lambs' I couldn't put the book down so Thomas Harris too.

3 languages reader, wow, that's impressive, I read only in my language, but still I don't know nothing about Eca, should be interesting... Anyhow, I can see you like fantasy, let's say; books I am reading are fantasy but not very science-fictional; there are more contemporan in many ways. Except the south-amercican authors with whom you never know when and why

Thank you! Eça, if you do find a book translated to your language I say read it, but be patient if you do. He's very descriptive.
I like fantasy but suspense books are my favourite. You've got to name a few books that you're reading, sounds like something I'd read. I can't really back you up on that statement I've never read anything from a south-american author.

In November there is one of the two yearly book-market here in Bucharest, and I shall ask editors on Eca.
On what I am reading, I must be ashamed, as I do not remember the authors. I finished last week 3 books, one written by a polish author, and two by brits authors, fantasy all the books. I do not recall the authors names... just the stories.
On the three-reading schedule I have Freud on my night table, which is, of course, an ongoing reading, a brit prised with the Orange book for his story (I shall give you the English name of the book once I'll be back home and again back here at the office) and I started the third last evening wich is called "Remembering Babilon" written by one of the most popular Australian contemporanary authors, don't know the name, of course .
Ann by the way, if you ever decide to read south-amercans, start for example with Garcia Marques, βThe Incredible and the Sad Tale of innocent Erendira and her heartless grandmotherβ.

Just remember take it easy with Eça, he was way ahead of his time and like controversial topics.
Freud is always interesting. I only have a book by him though as I don't really like him, I think that his views on some subjects are strange and untrue. He had points of view that I can't understand, and that at this time and age he wouldn't be as important has he was then.
'Remembering Babilon' is from David Malouf correct? I think I have that book somewhere around my house. I might read something of GarcΓa MΓ‘rquez sounds interesting as I have seen some things of him but never really picked it up.

John Katzernbach. I'm also patiently waiting for 'The power of six' by Pittacus Lore. Jill Mansell's 'Sheer Mischief' and Martina Cole's 'Close'. So two crime novels a romance and a sci-fi book.

Wow! Impressive!
As for me, still stuck in "Ingloriuos" - don't really like it, and "Girls", and the lovely "Bitter lemons of Cyprus".
